| Why do you like the library?I like the library because I love books! My cousins used to tease me and say that the library was my second home. lol I used to go a lot when I was younger but now that I'm older... I don't have as much time as I used to. I like all kind of books but my favorite sections in the library is the Young Adult Fiction section and also Mystery section. But like I said... I like all kind of books and can spend a lot of time in different aisles checking out books. One of my most memorable 'library' moments is when I learned by heart the Dewey Decimal System -- meaning I knew all of these categories by heart: (Dewey System)There was an opening at the library and I've always wanted to work there because I would feel right at home there and the pay and benefits were really great. But I did not know much about the classification system but in a couple of days I had become an expert on it lol. At the job interview they asked me to see how much I could remember and I said it all. Unfortunately there were several job openings that closed during that time because of an unemployment matter... and I didn't get the job. But I remember going to the library one time after the interview and remember looking at the library in a different way and I remember going to some books and by just reading their numbers on the side... I could tell what kind of books they were. It was pretty neat :sillySmiley: What about you guys? What do you have to say about your library experiences? |

| I love the library book sales. We usually have them every three months. There was one this past Saturday but money went for other things this month. I've gotten alot of The Hardy Boy mysteries at these sales for my boys. My youngest son is stuck on The Nancy Drew mysteries now. Since the movie came out last summer he has found out it not just for girls! My favorite book to check out in Elementary school...(a long time ago!) was Helen Keller, Pippi Longstockings and of course anything by LIW! _________________ It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. | I go to the Library about twice a week. I love to go because I can check out a huge stack of book for free! ANY BOOK I WANT! What a deal! I use the library a lot for our home schooling and the "library ladies" know me by name. |

| Well, since I like to own almost every book I read, I sometimes go months without going to the library. And as a book reviewer, I get free books all the time. For the most part, I use the library for research. While the Internet is great, I like to have printed material to back up what I talk about in my articles too. Now, when I was a kid, I would participate in the summer reading programs, which was always fun. _________________ |

| I missed my last library book sale! I wanted to go, but as usual my Saturday got busy. I will try to make the next one. They have SO many books to get rid of that they have one here about every three months. I'm SO bad to want to own all the books I read too Cheryl, but I try to check one out every once in a great while. _________________ It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. | I haven't been to the library in AGES!!! I have my own little bookshelf to go through that holds LHOP, Beverly Lewis, Janette Oak as well as many of my bible college textbooks. If I want anything to read I have a large selection to go through. Right now I'm reading some books by Beverly Lewis. My earliest memories of going to the library was in grades 1-3. The town public library was next door almost to my school and we would walk over once a week. The ladies would read us a story and then we could check out a book or two. My mom made my brother and I special library book bags. Mine had a clown with balloons and his had a giraffe. They were only used for library books. Mom and I found these bags not too long ago and it brought back a lot of happy memories! _________________ |

| Thanks, Cheryl. I've thought about trying my hand at book reviewing, too. |
