| I'm not really a reader. Right now it is just the Bible. _________________ Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Proverbs 31:30 |

| "You can do better then that!" I'm not really a big reader. I'm good at it, but nothing really catches me attention for me to read an entire book through. Any suggestions that you think could, feel free to through them out. _________________ Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. | I just finished "The Life and Times of the Lord Jesus Christ: A Harmony of the Gospels" by Peter Smith. It puts all the gospels from Jesus's infancy up to his Ascension into chronological order. I requested it for research on a book I'm writing, but it would also make a great Bible study guide for lessons focusing on the Gospels and the life of Christ. I began "Recipes for Enchantment" by Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein yesterday. Not bad, but not my favorite. _________________ |

| I would have liked to have had some author commentary added to it, but I think it's actually a really great book for new Christians who want to get to know the life of Christ because it takes them from the beginning of his earthly life to when he ascended into heaven in chronological order. I find when I read the Gospels it's sometimes hard to figure out which event went where in the timeline of His life. There's none of that with this book. _________________ |

| You know, I love the shows, like Little House, but when you read the books, you get a lot more out of them. At least I do. _________________ Enjoy life... This is not a dress rehearsal.

| Ok not sure if anyone has already posted about this book, but thought I would plug it. Its a new release called " The Shack". The author is William P. Young. I read this book over the summer and was really inspired by it in so many ways. Here is a summery : Mackenzie Allen Phillips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been bruttally murdered ids found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack recieves a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his arkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant THE SHACK wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book! _________________ It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. | Let me just add to my previous post that "The Shack" is a book that is a bit hard to read due to the thought of a little girl being taken. BUT do read it....its a book that helps us understand the things that we have no control over in life. It also more importanly helps us really see how much we must trust and have faith in God's plan for our lives. I was left with of how it would feel to lay my head in God's lap and know that he loves me more than anything. Let me know if you all read this book. Its got my two thumbs up! Smiles.....Gin _________________ It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts.
