Well, not at exactly the same moment, of course. batEyes But yes, I usually have a couple of books going at once. One tends to be educational/historical and the other is fluff. grinsmiley

Beverly Lewis : Summerhill Secrets 2

These are great intermediate books....even for this old 37 yr old. LOL
I love the amish way of life and this book touchs on that but with a girl (Merry) that is not Amish. She shows the difference in the customs with a twist of mystery in among it all.
I found the second book at Sam's for less than $8.

I only found the second one at Sam's. The first I think I got at a Library book sale. Both books have 5 book all in one.

I only discovered them last year. Wal-mart has alot of Beverly Lewis books now too.

Savannah....You and I have some of the same hobbies. I tend to read a few books at the same time too. Plus I've been doing some drawings from photos using color pencils. Its SO fun. But reading is one of my favorite hobbies first.

Gin, I'd love to see some of your drawings! What kind of things do you like to draw?

Lately I've been listening to books on my iPod while I'm doing other things. I like to do more than one thing at a time - so while I'm cleaning the fridge, I'm listening to Sense & Sensibility.....or whatever. I'd love to get some language lessons on my iPod. I can read a little bit of several languages, but I don't speak them. At any rate...Reading is one of my favorite things to do, too. Reading is a LOT faster than listening to a book on CD....but, I can't read and drive at the same time. batEyes For some reason, the police frown on that.

Savannah do you check the audio books out from the library or buy them?
Ya....don't read and drive. The squirrel community has too many hit and runs that way.

I have been drawing pictures from photos for a few months. Its getting easier with every one I do. Before that I've only sketched here and there.
In middle school kids would pay in candy bars to do their drawings for Science class. ( Then I would sale them for .50!)
Marilyn has a sketch I have done.....maybe she can post it.

I am reading Covenant Child by Terri Blackstock. It's the first book i've ever read by her. She writes well.

I have also been reading something I found on my antique shopping run..
Journey Toward Freedom
The Story of Sojourner Truth

The is story is about a slave girl that tells her life story growing up in slavery. It tells how they were freed but how those changes affected her life as well as her childrens.
It is a great page turner....makes you remember how blessed we are to live free.
