| Don't do that to me!! I've read Ester Ried, and I'm pretty sure that I read one other - but that's it. I know she has an extensive list of published works, though! _________________

Sorry, I couldn't resist!
Oh, it's so fun to find someone who has read some of my favorite old books!
The only book I've read by Elanor Porter is Just David. Are there others by her and have you read any?
One thing I like about Grace Livingston Hill and Isabella Alden is that their characters always bring beauty to a place. They clean it up and spread love around and make a difference! They are such good "feel good" books.
By Pansy I've read:
Ester Reid but don't I remember it!
Man of The family (I think that's the title) I read that one to my boys.
And there is one about a newly wed woman who goes to live with her horrible in laws (along with her husband!) I loved that one but I forget the title. I'll have to go searching. |

| At the moment I am reading ONE TUESDAY MORNING by Karen Kingsbury about the fall of the World Trade Center. I wanted to read this a few weeks ago but my mom was reading it over 9/11. It is such a good book. _________________

| Just finished Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt "Worse than the ordinary miserable childhood is the miserable Irish childhood, and worse yet is the miserable Irish Catholic childhood." I've read all his three books in german before, but even if I knew what to expect, I was shocked again about the life he described and astonished that he could write about it in such a humorous way.
I started reading Little House in the Big Woods together with some friends. Everybody reads another edition (translation) and once a week we talk about a chapter or two.
I almost finished the rereading of These Happy Golden Years (in english) - only two more chapters to go.
Another book I'm reading now is named Imprisonment. It's the memoirs of a Ukrainian woman, who was deported to my hometown in the 1940s as a forced laborer. I wonder how she could survive the conditions she had to live under... :o( _________________

| I know what you mean. I'd love to read more, but there just isn't time right now. So I choose carefully what I *do* get to read. I'm not going to read it just because it's on someone's list of classics, or whatever. LOL . . . If I don't like it, I won't read it. _________________

| I love to read, too, and my mom keeps me supplied in reading material. I have a list of books written down in a notebook that I periodically look in the library for.
Right now I'm reading, "Angels Fall" by Nora Roberts. _________________

| *dreamy sigh* I absolutely love Pride & Prejudice.
I just finished "Aunt Dimity's Death". It was okay, but just that: Okay. I wouldn't read it again (and again....) like I do some books. _________________

I love reading a Christmas book this time of year. Authors: Tracey V.
