Let's see, I just finished "Last Jew Standing" by Michael Simon. It was excellent. I will be posting a review sometime this week. I also read a kid's book called "The Legend of Seal Beach" by Dave McKnew. Didn't do too much for me, but the girls loved it--which is the point.

I am now reading "Dark Lullaby" by Mayra Calvani and "Delight" by Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein. Next up is "Fireborn Chronicles" by Mary Andrews.

These are all reviews for my clients.

Cheryl

I am reading "Always & Forever"

Description: 16-year-old Melissa Austin has always worked hard to get what she wants. As the school year begins, her work is paying off: Her grades are up and she’s landed a coveted spot on the Brain Bowl team. She and her best friend, Jory Delaney, are determined to have the best junior year ever.

Then Melissa receives devastating news about her health. At first she refuses to accept the doctor’s diagnosis, but as her illness gets worse, she cannot deny the truth. Only with the loving support of her family, and especially Jory, can Melissa come to terms with the mysteries of living . . . and dying.

It's really good... Thumbsup

That sounds like an interesting book! It would be fun to "watch" a new episode of TAGS.

The funny thing is, no one can seem to remember why they didn't film that ep. Andy is quoted as saying that he loved it, but they they just never used it "for some reason." The author theorizes that it might be because this show kind of goes against the normal formula. In this one, Andy himself brings about the conflict when he tries to get the wandering minstrel guy to settle down in Mayberry. Normally it's others who cause the conflict, and Andy has to make things right.

I have a book that has a synopsis of every episode of the old Zorro series starring Guy Williams - but that only ran for about 80 episodes. The book you have must be pretty thick!

Actually, it's not. Each synopsis is only a paragraph or two, so that section doesn't take up all that much room.

I loved watching that Zorro show when I was a kid. Guy Williams was one of my heroes. He was also on Lost in Space, another of my childhood favorites.

Savannah wrote:
One of the episodes that they used was A Date for Gomer, and how he saw beyond Mary Grace's physical appearance, and enjoyed her company for who she was. That is one of my favorite Gomer episodes. He's just so sweet and considerate. I always wished that they'd have brought Mary Grace back for more episodes. But I'm rambling now...........:shy:[/color]

That's probably my favorite Gomer episode too. I love it when Gomer runs out right after he meets Mary Grace, and they all think it's because of the way she looks. But it turns out he just went to buy her a corsage (or should I say "cor-sage"), because he saw the other girls had them and he wanted her to have one, too.

And of course it's an especially funny ep because we get to see Gomer dancing. They really should put Jim Nabors on Dancing With the Stars. :thankyou:

Some trivia on Jim Nabors........

He said that it has always been difficult for him to watch the opening of
"Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C." (1964) because many of the Marines that he is seen marching with were killed in Vietnam.

I loved In His Steps. I haven't read it in a long time, but I should read it again soon.

Right now I'm reading The Carrot Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke. It's her newest book. It's a library copy, but I want to buy a copy for myself. I love her books. Thumbsup

For myself I'm reading Rebecca Of Sunnybrook farm by Kate Douglas Wiggins.

Out loud to my son, we've been reading through the "Rose" books by Roger Lea MacBride. Right now we're reading On The Other Side Of The Hill.

(I hope I got all that right!)

The Redemption of Sarah Cain by Beverly Lewis. I just bought the movie but I have to go and read the book again before I see it.
I just finished Abram's Daughters by Bev Lewis too, she's such a great writer.
