Hi guys!

Where do I start.... Type

Life has been really hectic these past few weeks. We found out my stepmom(Maureen) has cancer in her throat. Blue

My dad and I are the only ones who know in the family for now. I was sworn not to tell a soul. I just had to tell Jim. There are days where I just cry for her. Then there are days I'm don't believe she has cancer. I want to tell a few people, but I don't out of respect for my stepmom. It feels alittle better just being able to get things off my chest here. I do know that she will be going thru chemo(sp). Zachary keeps asking how Grandmas visit to the Dr. went. I tell him I don't know for sure. My dad is the type that keeps things bottled up inside. So I don't ike talk about it to him much. I see my stepmom everyday. We talk about it somedays. Alot of tears are shed. Blue

The biggest thing with my stepmom is she will lose her hair and the money part of this. It's not really that she has cancer it the hair and money part. I will keep you guys updated as time goes. Please keep up in your thoughts and prayers.

Susie, so sorry to hear about your stepmom. I will be praying for her and your father and the rest of your family in the days ahead.
But WOW am I glad to see you again. I was almost at the point of calling you. Will do that some day soon and we can visit. We get worried when you disappear and it is good to know that you are ok.

OH SUSIE!!!! Please know that I am praying for your stepmom, and PLEASE tell her........"HAIR GROWS BACK!" Been there, done that, twice! As far as the money situation, there are places that help financially with cancer patients. I didn't know about them at the time I went through mine, but check the internet for these services.....

Susie, sorry to hear that. I know what it's like to have someone close to you get sick before your eyes. We missed you so much around here. I will be praying for your family and your stepmom. I hope you guys find the strength to make it through.

Susie, I can tell you that losing your hair to cancer is a huge devastation. My hair went way past my waist and when I knew I was going to lose it thru chemo, I had it cut in a short bob because I knew if it was the long hair coming out, I wouldn't be able to handle it. Well, when I was showering and my hair was coming out in handfuls, I couldn't handle that either....my hair had always been my glory, and now, I was going to have nothing. There are wigs, turbans, scarves and hats out there to wear. I was going to have my hair made into a wig for myself, but it would cost over $1,000, so I decided to go with a wig with other hair, rather than mine. I had hair cut from different parts of my head for the color match, and when the wig was made, it was NO WHERE near my color. I guess the person was colorblind when they made it.....Anyway, the lady at the wig shop, took the wig and said she could sell it because it was a popular style. Thank goodness, there was no way I could wear it. So, I bought bandanas, ball caps and more dressy hats and scarves for church. It all worked out, so tell your stepmom she can do it too. If she needs to talk about it, feel free to email me with her questions.........

Susie, so sorry to hear the news about your step mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Here in Britain, sometimes we don't appreciate our National Health Service but when I hear stories about you guys having to pay for life-saving treatment I for one certainly value it because we don't have to pay a penny for treatment for cancer or any other such diseases.

Just know that your friends here are on the prairie are with you and when you feel things are getting too much, we're here to share the hard times as well as the good times with you.
