has anyone ever read this book? It's the only Jodi Picoult book I've read so far and probably the only one I'll ever read. I didn't really like it too much, either. Kate was always the center of attention, and poor Jesse was ignored. I know Kate's situation, but I would've felt horrible if I was Jesse. I also didn't really like how the book ended. I just felt bad for Anna!

"Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost

"Nature's first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf's a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay. "

my English class was discussing this poem today, and I only knew it because it was mentioned in The Outsiders, one of my favorite books/movies, and that's probably why it's my favorite poem. does anyone ...

When you are at the library or bookstore, what is it about a book that attracts you to it?

Is it the cover? The summary of the story? The author who wrote it?

=========

At first I would always look at the covers... it is what attracted me the most... but I quickly learned... "Don't Judge a Book By It's Cover". It goes both ways... lol

So what I mainly do now is read the summary but often I find myself looking for a book with a good summary and a good cover

This poem showed me that even though they are gone, they are still very much with us. If you are missing someone too, I hope it helps you!

Have you ever listened to an audiobook?

I remember the disney audiobooks that had a chime sound whenever it was time to turn the page. lol I loved those.

As an adult, I think the only one I have heard was Anne of Green Gables. I loved them!! This was after I had READ the books... I just know I had to check that tape out when I saw it at the library.

There was also The Long Journey...narrated by Megan Follows.

So even though this is mainly for Little House books, I thought we could also discuss the Anne of Green Gables books... since it's similar to Little House.

I will only do it if enough people are interested in discussing the chapters. What is awesome about this is that the book is available online and everyone can read the chapters online. I really wish they would do this for Little House, I keep checking, but maybe soon!

Anyway, who is up for the book discussion?
