Hello! I'm new here and not quite sure how all this works, but I'll try!
My name is Sabrina, I live in a small South Texas town with my husband and 5 children. rainbowfaces I love many kinds of music.....gospel, oldies Disco , classical and bluegrass. I also love to read. I've read the Little House series many times. I also love to read reader books by authors Janette Oke and Beverly Lewis, among others. I LOVE taking pictures of family, hummingbirds and flowers Camera . My sister Misti can attest to this.....she thinks my camera gets annoying at times! My family and I are active in our church and I play violin (intermediate) Violin . My only dream is to live in Colorado Cabin or somewhere where there's 4 seasons, real trees and SNOW! SleighRide
I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie. I love them as much today and I did when I was a kid!

Savannah...you're never too old to learn to play the violin! I was in my late 30s when I started taking lessons. It's something I wanted to do most of my life. I don't know why I waited so long Think ?!

Sabrina??? Why does that name sound familiar???? LOL! Glad you finally came and introduced yourself. And I'm glad you are finally on the board!

Sabrina was really into LH before I was but then we both were. It got so bad we had my mom make us bonnets and Sabrina either wanted to or did wear several layers of skirts to mirror their clothes. (I know, I'm telling all the embarassing stuff!)

She and her husband, Joe, just celebrated 22 years of marriage and their kids are: Rachel (21), Joshua (18), Caleb (16), Sarah (13) and Seth (10).

You want to know anymore??? Just ask me....errr her! Whistle

OH!! I did the same thing when I was a little girl! I wore three or four skirts so I could get that full-pouffy look! LaughingSmiley2 I'm afraid it didn't have quite the effect I was hoping for!

Sabrina, I may yet try and learn to play the violin! My hands never liked the guitar for making chords - it made my hands ache terribly. And since the piano has been such a large part of my life, I couldn't have that. But with a violin I might not have the same problem. Thumbsup

I used to take violin lessons, but quit this past summer just for a break. I'd like to take it back up again, but I need to find a teacher who will teach me more than just playing by ear. And, I've been improving my piano skills with a new teacher.

When I was 2 or 3 my mom would put bonnets on me.... inspired by Little House of course... GreenSmile
I think my aunt has one picture of me with one but when I talked to her last she coudn't find it! bawling

Welcome Sabrina! You and I have a few things in common. I also love Janette Oke, Beverly Lewis. I have 17 of Janette Oke titles, and about 16 Beverly Lewis too. I have just bought her new series... The Courtship of Nellie Fisher.----The Parting. I haven't read it yet but its next on my list.
I also love taking pictures and have a small business called GingerSnaps that I have just began about a year ago.
You'll have to email me sometime. I'm in Kingwood, Tx. We may be neighbors and just dont know it! LOL

Hi Gin! I live in Beeville. Between San Antonio and Corpus Christi. Where is Kingwood?
We have a state park in Goliad that has a section that's seeded with wildflowers every year. We take the kids out there and take pictures. Camera It is a gorgeous area! There may not be any flowers this year, however. We had abundant rain the first half of 2007, then it quit around August.
It must be fun to take pictures and make money doing it!

Have you seen any of the Love Comes Softly movies?

We have an Amish community just outside our town and we have friends who were formerly Amish, so we've gotten to know a little about the Amish lifestyle.

Hmmmm Beeville ...WHERE IS THAT! Lol Kingwood is 30 miles North of Houston.

I just might need to get your way to take some pictures in those wildflowers. Its always good to know great places to take people. We had tons of rain too in June into July last year. Hope this year lets rain come a little at a time. August was awful last year!

Ok so tell me what your favorite Bev. Lewis book is.?? I loved all the Abram's Daughter series. I read sometimes during the kids naptime...(I keep two small children during the week.) I couldnt wait til naptime when I was reading those!

I would love to visit an Amish community. Although they would throw me out if they saw my camera.....its always with me.

Ok Sabrina...you are 3 1/2 hours from me. Not too far really. I grew up in Arkansas, so I usually travel 9 hours to see family. Nothing looks that far after that trip!

Every year, Sabrina, myself and whomever else wants to go usually head to Yoakum to the peach orchard that is there.

We eat peaches and pick a bunch to bring home. It makes wonderful peach cobbler but fresh peaches go bad so fast.

We went there one year, in the rain, and had a ball. All of our pictures showed us dripping wet.

Hey Gin! Love the picture of you as your avatar!!!

Funny you mention Houston; we used to live up in that area, in Alvin, for several years.
