Hi Everyone,

I am new to this board. I have been a fan of the show since it was originally on. (I am only old enough to have watched the last few years of it.) I remain a fan to this day. My favorite character is Almanzo and I've had the pleasure of speaking to Dean Butler and Melissa Gilbert via e-mail a few times. Before he passed I also wrote an email to Kevin Hagen (Dr. Baker) and he wrote me back a very nice email. Everyone from the show that I've spoken to was very nice.

Anyway, I'm excited to be able to talk to people with a shared interest. Has anyone ever been to the (real) Little House sites in Kansas or the other places the family lived?

Nice meeting all of you!

Welcome to the group, ManlyFan. You're in good company, especially since I'm a big Dean Butler fan too.

Welcome to the board! Welcome

Yes, several of the members here have had the opportunity to visit some of the places that Laura mentioned in her books. (I'm not one of them. :fyi: If Marilyn would just pack me in her suitcase.....) I think it would be so much fun to be able to travel to the places where Laura and her family had lived!

And Cheryl is too modest to mention it herself, but she had the opportunity to interview Dean Butler not too long ago. If you'd like to read the interview, here's the thread:

Cheryl's Interview

Cheryl's Interview

This might possibly be the first time anyone has ever claimed I am modest. Can you write a note to my family and tell them? :haha:

Here's the link to my blog where Part 1 of the interview is: http://lauralittlehouseontheprairie.blogspot.com/2008/10/conversation-with-dean-butler-part-1.html There will be links to each part in the body of the interview.

Hope you enjoy it!

Welcome! Its great to have new members aboard. I have been to the homesite in Mansfield, MO. It was such a nice place and the people were so friendly.
It was so fun to go into Almonzo and Laura's home and see the furniture he made and the dishes Laura used.
Hope you enjoy being here and hope we can get to know you better.

Thanks for all of the welcomes! I really enjoyed reading Cheryl's interview with Dean. I have some of the dvd's that I enjoy watching over and over again. I've never been to any of the real LH sites, but would love to go some day.

One of my dearest friends (a pen pal I've never met no less!) I met on another LHOTP website 12 years ago. It seems LHOTP brings people together!

That happened to me too. I met an Ingalls and we have been best friends, sisters, for about 12 years. I have met her many times and have been to some of the sites with her last summer and am going to others this summer. LHOP is an awesome way to meet great people. All of the people on this forum are amazing. Enjoy getting to know then. Have fun on the prairie.
