| I forgive but I DO NOT forget. Sometimes it takes me a while to forgive someone. But in my religion I must forgive. It makes me feel good to forgive, so that I am not mad forever at someone. And so that I know God is happy that I still don't hold a grudge. Beckie _________________ The only opinion about you that counts is your own.

| I can forgive and forget easily enough, but it depends on the problem or situation. I'm not going to worry and fret over some little slight. Life's too short, and sometimes people hurt your feelings or wrong you without intending to do so, or because they thought you did something to them, whether you think you did or not.
On the other hand, I have grudges I've carried for years.
So yeah, it depends. |

I think these are wise words. During my long and pointless life I've found that there are very few, if any, truly evil people. As human beings, all of us are basically wired the same way. So when someone does something that angers or offends me, I remember that, from their point of view, they feel they're justified. Everyone walks around with their own packet of circumstances. So I'm able to forgive and forget pretty easily. |

| I forgive and forget pretty fast, if I don't, resentment will soon set in and it will only mummify myself to the point where it's not living my life anymore. Life is too short and too precious to be wasted on all the nonsense and negativities in life. Life is beautiful...live it!! _________________

Exactly. I don't think anyone has ever laid on their deathbed and thought, "If only I'd stayed angry longer..." |

| Interesting question! Forgive? Yes, but sometimes it is only with the help of the Lord Jesus or better yet, only with Him forgiving through me once I'm willing... As far as forgetting goes, I guess it really depends on what you mean by forget. You can't really make yourself forget something that happened but you can choose whether or not you ponder something- smolder about it, bringing it back up -over and over and reliving it (with revenge, etc.). Ya know what I mean?
Also, I stick to the old advice of avoiding the dog that bites. It's not that you don't forgive the dog- but enough is enough!

| True forgiveness comes from within, IMO, and forgetting comes with it. _________________
