| Do you know how to drive a car w/ manual transmission? An automatic one? Or do you drive both types?

My answer: I drive both kinds _________________

| Automatic, here, much to my husband's dismay.. I attempted to learn how to drive a manual but he kept on screaming "you're ruining the transmission, stop grinding the gears!!!" I got so frustrated I gave up, lol, I'll stick with my automatic! _________________

| I learned on a stick shift. But I've driven an automatic for years. _________________

With that kind of encouragement, you gave up?? LOL I'd never have been able to learn if someone was shouting at me, either. _________________

| I know how to drive both, but feel comfortable with the automatic, people say the stick is easier than the automatic, but for some reason I just couldn't get comfortable with the stick, and prefer the automatic. _________________

| I would love to learn manual, but really don't have the opportunity. Not a big deal though. So, it's automatic for me. ~C |

| I can only drive Automatic. Boyfriend used to have a car that was Stick, but I was too afraid to try it myself when another friend wrecked her boyfriend's truck by going 80 in second gear (or something like that). It was a new relationship at the time, and I thought ruining his car wouldn't be the best way to stay in the relationship, LOL. He sold that car though, so I've never even tried driving a stick. _________________

| Automatic only. I've never even attempted manual, and if it's anything like my attempts at parallel parking, I had better never even try it, lol. _________________

| | Manual transmission. There aren't as many automatic cars here in Britain as there are in US and almost everyone learns in a manual! |

| I have automatic but if it came down to it, I could drive a stick, as long as it is a smaller vehicle. The huge trucks that are stick, no way, but the smaller ones I can. I actually enjoy driving stick, as long as I'm on a country road or along that line. No way in town or cities. _________________

| I think the last time I parallel parked was my driver's test, back in the summer of 1989! ~C |

| I can drive both, but it's probably been 10 years since I drove a stick. I hear it's like riding a bicycle - once you learn, you never forget.

I gave mine up a year ago cuz I couldn't pass my DOT physical because of blood pressure. I hope to get them back if I get better. Problem is, I'll have to take the tests all over again. |

Have you tried going to a chiropractor(I think that's how you spell it.) Anyway Jim had his physical done with one...Cause our Dr. couldn't get him in for a few weeks. Jim also said his boss had high blood preasure and 2 DR.'s failed him. The chiropractor passed him.
The cdl written part was really tough for Jim. He's a smart guy and had a hard time. The driven part was easy considering his boss watched the whole time. lol _________________

Yeah, the written can be a pain. The PTI is even worse. It's amazing how many things they expect you to check on your rig every day before you pull out. I didn't pass my HazMat first time around, but I didn't need it for what I hauled, so I didn't worry about it.
Nah, a chiroprator wouldn't help. I'm on beta blockers for blood pressure, which they frown on, plus I've only got about 10% liver usage, so if and when I ever get them back, it'll be quite some time in the future. I just miss being on the open road. |
