Season 9 rewrite - Stand alone epsiodes or continuing arcs

Final poll, really, I promise. Do we want to write these episodes the way they were in the show, each episode was about a particular incident and the storyline ended within hour? Or, do we want to write them like soap operas or more modern TV shows where storylines continue through several episodes?

Something to think about: there might always be some reference to past events in the future episodes, but do we want to tie ourselves down to remembering everything that happened in every episode in Season 9. (I'll explain more later).

If we keep these episodes as stand alones, then we don't have to remember everything that happened in the past when we rewrite a new episode, which I feel will work better. If we try to continue storylines over multiple episodes, someone will probably need to keep track of all the events from the past episodes--includes rewrites and ones we left as is--to maintain continuity. (Think of the continuing story threads).

and we'd probabaly have to wait with writing the next episode until the one before is totally done. I prefer the "one-hour-episodes"

I'd rather like "stand alone episodes". The show was tought this way and I like it. Besides, "Little House" is a "stand alone episode" show at the same time than a "soap opera", for some of the stories could be followed through the epies. For example, when Nellie was pregnant, she was showed in a lot of "stand alone epies" until she finally gaves birth to the twins.

I think we should keep "LHOTP" spirit if we can.

Standalone episodes for me too. I agree with Vanesa, how this is how most LH episodes were and I think they would be easier for us to write.
