| My mom is an avid crocheter. She subscribes to several crochet mailing lists, and she came across this site showing a reproduction of a doily that Laura Ingalls Wilder had crocheted while at Rocky Ridge Farm -- http://www.papercraftsmag.com/magazine/article_details.ihtml?content_id=411&project=TRUE&_start_page_=1&cat_idx. Unfortunately, the link to the chart doesn't work, so I don't know if there's enough information there to make the doily yourself (I know almost nothing about crochet). _________________

| OH! That is just so cool! You really kind of need the chart, unless I could enlarge the picture. Then I could work it from looking at the picture ........hmmm........ I just e-mailed them about the link not working, so hopefully they'll fix it. Otherwise, I'm going to save a copy of the picture, and work from there. Thanks for posting that!! _________________

| This is so beautiful. LIW had great talent. I love doilies but I don't know how to crochet. My mom has quite a few scattered around her house to protect the tabletops.Thank you for posting the link John!! _________________

| Not yet. I'm having a lot of trouble getting a good copy of the pattern to print out. I'm not sure if it's my printer or what. I've tried several different things, but so far, the copy still comes out too blurry for me to use. _________________

| It's times like this that I kick my butt for not being more interested in crocheting when my grandmother was trying to teach me when I was young. That is a beautiful piece of crochet work that I don't think I could accomplish by just knowing the basic chain stitch (hee-hee). Now if it was a simple pot holder I could handle it if I paid attention to not losing a stitch on heach row. Good luck to anyone who tries the pattern. It sure would be rewarding to complete it that's for sure! |

| I love this doily. Unfortunately, I'm an idiot in crocheting skills.

Hey! You're half-way there! Filet crochet uses a lot of the chain stitch. _________________

LOL, me too, Vanesa. I love sewing, but I never really got into croqueting, or knitting, which is something else I'd like to learn. _________________
