How frustrating! You've had to wait sooooooooooo long now. Hopefully your dad is having his surgery as I type this. Please keep us updated. I'll be praying for him.

I'm trying not to complain at you all. LOL......The last thing y'all need to hear is whining. I'm sure hoping that the surgery is soon, though. It'll take at least two hours, plus the ride home is about an hour and a half. Poor Dad.........He was just saying "I hope they don't postpone it til tomorrow again!".

Oh my. I just saw your post, Savannah. Waiting is so hard, especially since you've been waiting since yesterday. Did they say what the hold up is? Hopefully it will be soon. By the way..........you're not complaining.

I'm so sorry I missed this thread, I haven't been around much of the week. Savannah, praying for your dad and hoping the surgery goes well (and is overwith soon!) That must be so rough on all of you, first waiting to find out what was wrong and then (and possible still), waiting for them to do the actual surgery. Please know that we're all praying for him and for you. How are you feeling? I hope your ankle is holding up?{{hugs}}

Thank you! The nurse just came in and told us that he's now on the schedule for surgery at 8:30. She said it'll probably be closer to 9:00. I sure hope they'll at least get to it tonight! Dad is so ready to get this taken care of.

Thank you so much for the prayers. We're all exhausted, and it looks to be a very long night. I'm going to go down and get some more coffee.

I bet your dad is so relieved that they're finally getting down to business. How soon before he can have a cup of coffee??

The nurse told him that it may be three days yet before he can have coffee! I think it depends partly on how well the surgery goes. He hasn't eaten anything in a week. He's on I.V. so he's being nourished, but he can't wait to be able to have a cup of coffee, and something to eat.

I just saw this thread after I saw in one of the other threads you were
going to be at the hospital all day today. I'm thinking of and
praying for your dad, you and your ankle. I'm glad he's finally in
surgery to get the problem taken care of.

He's out of surgery, and the surgeon said that everything went very well. Thank you for all of your prayers! No cancer! Praise the Lord!

God is awesome. Good to hear that the worst is over and now the healing can begin. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

The doctor said that they expect that Dad will be there in the hospital for another week. ( Faint2

) He can't eat or drink anything so far. One nurse told him it could be a couple of days more, because of where his surgery took place. He'll have to have another surgery in about three months to completely fix what's wrong. He still has a long road ahead of him. The surgery that he had is considered major surgery, and the healing process has to be watched closely.

The hospital staff has been so kind, and so sweet, but I'm ready to bid them adieu. Another week of all of this travelling..........And I know that my Dad is more than ready to go home.

One more thing that I'd like to ask prayer about is my Mom. She's more exhausted than I am, and so far her blood pressure is doing well through all of this. But exhaustion isn't good for her heart. She's had heart attacks before, and I sure don't want her to have to go down that road again.
