A bit of a setback

We had missionaries visiting our church tonight, and we hadn't seen them in nearly four years, so Dad really wanted to go. But I think he over did it today. He was in a LOT of pain when we got home. (Thank the Lord for Vicodin!) But, it looks like there's infection developing around the area of the staples. So, we have to take Dad to his doctor in the morning, at 8:30. We thought we were going to have to take him to the hospital tonight, he was in so much pain. The Vicodin gave him relief within minutes of taking it, thankfully. Prayers about the infection would be appreciated! (I seem to be asking for prayer so much lately! I really, really am thankful for all of the prayers!)

I had staples with both of my surgeries and my body does not like foreign objects in it, and by the 3rd day, it starts to 'push' whatever it is out of it. That is why I didn't have a port put in for the chemotherapy to go in......my body would've rejected it and pushed it out.......When I was in the hospital, they always had problems with my IV staying in....go figure.....

Awww, I'm so sorry to hear that, Savannah. I remember when I had my c-section with Devin, that my incision got infected where the staples were. It was not pretty, but it did heal quickly enough. I'll keep your dad in my prayers and tie that man down so that he won't overdo anymore! GreenSmile

Pam, Teresa and Marilyn, thank you!

Dad is feeling much, much better today. He's on a very strong antibiotic, and of course, the Vicodin as needed. We went over to his doctor, about an hour away or so.......got there at 8:15, and they got him right in. The doctor said that the antibiotic that he gave Dad should take care of the problem. I'm really thankful about that. I'm about to the point of stupid-tired now, though. I don't know how people can be on the road so much. I've been driving hundreds of miles a week for the last few weeks, and it's exhausting. At least we *should* be able to slow that down now. The next scheduled trip to the city is in a couple of weeks for Dad's post-surgery check up. The only thing I'm going to miss about heading to the city so often, is the huge hobby/craft store they have there. GreenSmile

But I'm not going to miss it enough to want to keep this pace up.
