I'm afraid!

Hi all,
We just had to take my dad to the hospital. He was complaining of chest pains. I was there for awhile with him and he wasn't complaining too much. My mom arrived and I came home again. My sil is there too and she just called to say that my dad has an fluid on the lungs and has an irregular heartbeat for the last 2 weeks or so. My dad has been feeling under the weather for about 10 days or so but we just thought he was suffering with cold or flu symptoms. If we had know that it was this, we would have taken him in sooner. They will be keeping him for a few days to run tests etc.
My dad turns 82 tomorrow! We were celebrating his birthday at dinner and he didn't eat a thing. We took a pic with his cake and that's as close as he came to any of it.
Please pray for my dad, his name is Cameron. I am more afraid for him than I was for myself when I was in hospital 4x in the last month. Please pray for mom and I too. She is at the hospital and is very upset. I'm home and am upset too. bawling

Oh, Marilyn! I sure will be praying!

There are amazing things that they can do now to help regulate the heartbeat. Your Dad is in my prayers, starting as soon as I post this note to you.

SIL came home and said that he is getting more and more uncomfortable. He has fluid on his lungs and it will have to be removed. My mom is now at the hospital alone and they are waiting for a specialist to come in and see dad. They aren't sure if he had a heart attack or not but he heart rate is high and then goes low, very scary to hear that.
Mom is not doing well, very woried and at the hospital alone. I couldn't stay and watch him so I came home. I feel like a bad daughter. I need to be with people right now but it is 11pm and everyone is gone home and i won't be able to sleep now.
I don't think we will be going to church tomorrow, althought that is what I desperately need. Mom will need me to be with her and I don't think I will be able to do it.
Please keep praying, I'm so afraid!

Marilyn, I'm praying for you and for your Mom and Dad. You have my prayers for wisdom, strength, peace and grace. Remember that God is with you, and with your Dad, too. I know that this is awfully scary for you, but God is with you, sweetie.

I called the hospital this morning (8am). My dad is no longer in pain. He must have been given some drugs. The specialist came to see him overnight and he is still in the ER waiting to get a bed upstairs.
I am going to church, I need to be with people. I'll go to see him after. My aunt will go and sit with my mom and dad.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD. Poor guy.

Oh, mercy...........Still waiting for a room?? That has to be so frustrating for ALL of you. Waiting is never easy, but when someone you love is in pain or suffering.....it makes it that much harder. You all continue in my prayers, Marilyn.

I went to church and mom went to see day. They think that he has pnemonia, plus an irregular heartbeat. They got the heart beating better and so he is feeling better at the moment. I'll go and visit him later on this aft or eve.

Just got back from visiting my dad. He is still in the ER waiting for a room. It felt funny going into the ER and not finding myself a bed, lol. Sorry, bad humour!
He is much more comfortable. They gave him some pills last night and he hasn't felt the pain in his chest since, what a blessing. He has pnemonia, keeps coughing it up but other than that he seems his old self. He has fluid on the lungs and an irregular heartbeat and will be in the hospital for a few days. The hospital is at the end of our street basically so he isn't far away, about 3 min by car.
Thanks for your prayers and support. Once again, my prairie buddies came through and all is well. God is good!

Oh Marilyn, what a scary weekend you've had!! I'm so sorry. Glad to hear your dad is doing better---hope he's able to kick the pneumonia...that can be scary with elderly people. It's good that he's able to cough a lot up. I'll be praying for him, and Happy Birthday to your dad!!

You know, I was really surprised to see his name is "Cameron"...that is not a name that was common back then! You must have had some 'hip' grandparents! Peace
