Dad did well enough on his stress test to go ahead and have surgery tomorrow. Originally, they told us to be there at 11:00 am, and surgery would be around 3:00 pm...................But we just got a call telling us to have him there by 10:00, and surgery will be around 11:15. That actually works out a lot better, since I'm supposed to work tomorrow evening, and the surgery will take at least two hours.

Dad is in really good spirits about the surgery, and is already looking forward to the first cup of coffee he'll be able to have post-surgery. (He can't have any starting this evening, through probably at least Saturday, if it's anything like the last surgery)

I'm taking my laptop with me, so I'll keep you posted on his progress. (But I won't make you endure blow-by-blow posts. Shifty )

Your prayers would be appreciated, as always. I'm so thankful for friends who'll pray with my family for anything we ask about.

Thanks, everybody! We're at the hospital now, in the surgery guest lounge. Dad should be going in to surgery any time now. It's funny.....the guest lounge here is like a little campground neighborhood! LOL......Anyone want to come join me here for coffee?? (They actually have good coffee today. I offered bad coffee and boring conversation to Rob the last time Dad had surgery, but he was too slow, and missed out on the deal. Whistle )

Well, you missed the opportunity for bad conversation and boring coffee....But I could still offer boring conversation. GreenSmile


Dad's been in surgery for about and hour and a half, so he should be out in about a half hour - hopefully. The doctor told us that it's more difficult to put things back together, so it might take a little longer.

The doctor figures that Dad'll probably be in the hosptial til Wednesday - BUT, they let him have some coffee last night! He was thrilled! Today, though, he hasn't been able to keep anything down. So, they gave him a shot to help that. He may have a touch of the flu. Blue It's never "good timing" to have the flu, but this really wouldn't be good timing for him at all.

I couldn't get over there today to visit him, because I didn't get out of work til seven, and visiting hours end at eight. (The hospital is a little over an hour away) But we've been able to talk a lot on the phone with him. He seems to be doing well, except for the fact that his stomach is bothering him.
