Tests for my Dad

Subject: Tests for my Dad Tue May 06, 2008 7:14 pm

Early tomorrow morning, my Mom and I will be taking my Dad over to have the tests run to make sure that he's up to having the reattachment surgery done. If all goes well, then they'll go ahead with the May 14th surgery. So, of course, I'd appreciate prayers that all goes well. I know it means a lot to my Dad to get this taken care of. Also, on a lesser, but related note........I'm starting to get a migraine. So, I'd really appreciate prayers about that, since I'm supposed to drive tomorrow.

Prayers for your dad and he will be able to have the surgery and prayers that the migraine doesn't come to be...............hang in there Savannah.....

Well, we won't get the results from the tests for a few days........Except that the technician told my Dad that she thinks that part of his heart isn't functioning. He's had several tests run on his heart, and that hasn't been indicated, but we'll just have to wait and see. He has to have a stress test run before he can have surgery, now. He says that his heart feels good and strong to him, so that's a good thing.

Thank you for your prayers! We were behind a nut-case driver, who was angry that there was road construction going on. He was going to try to cut into the opposing traffic, and push his way through! Thankfully, a semi-truck came along and changed his mind for him. I was so glad when he finally turned off. What a nut!

Dad is very upbeat about everything, and is still doing absolutely awesome with quitting smoking, so that should help him, I would think. A positive attitude always seems to help.

I *think* that's all the news from today. LOL.........I'm supposed to be heading out the door, so I'm trying to hurry. I'll check back later, and see if I forgot anything. Thanks again for your prayers!!

I'll continue to keep your dad in my prayers, Savannah. I agree, a positive attitude does always seem to help. And that is wonderful that your dad is sticking to not smoking. I know that can be especially difficult, so I think that is a great accomplishment.

I'm doing much better today, thank you, Christina. The migraine has been downgraded to a bothersome headache - but I can deal with that.

We talked to the doctor, and he had told us a year ago (right after the children were taken) that the incident had caused Dad to have what the doctor called a "heart spell". Well, he never clarified that it was actually a small heart attack. But today when we talked to him, he told us that Dad had, indeed, had a small heart attack at the time. He's been on a water pill since then. So, that's why they're scheduling a stress test. Dad hates those. But they won't operate without that being done first. Life used to be so simple........ Unsure

It's a good thing that we know that God is in control. I just need to remember to stop pushing Him out of the driver's seat. batEyes
