| Oh, this is fun. My older son (17) had his wisdom teeth out yesterday around 5pm. He's recovering nicely, but it sure is WORK!! Ice-packs constantly and meds constantly! So far he's doing well as far as pain, and has good drugs should it get bad. But it's still early. I know today and tomorrow will be the worst, so if you could please say a little prayer for him (Brendan) that would be much appreciated.
But LOL, on lighter note, I had FUN that first hour with him that he was coming off the gas!!! LOLOL, he was basically 'flying' home! I have never seen him like that...he was 'dancing' to his Ipod and singing at the top of his lungs! LOLOL! SO not my quiet 'no-nonsense' son! Gosh, that was good stuff. _________________

| LOL! Amy, it's too bad you couldn't have gotten a video of that. My Dad was saying some pretty strange stuff when he was on morphine. And he doesn't remember a bit of it. (This could be fun. hehehe........."But Dad......YOU said......" ) I'll sure be praying that Brendan does super well! And prayers for you, too, for strength to keep up with the ice-packing and meds. {{{Amy}}} Savannah _________________

| I'll keep him in my prayers. Tim had one wisdom tooth taken out last year and he had a difficult time afterwards. I hope your son heals quick! _________________

| Thank you Savannah, Carol, Jacob and Pam!
First of all, YES, Savannah, how I WISH I had had my video camera!!! LOL, I told my hubby about everything Brendan did and said and he was like, "Brendan did that???" LOL! He's a very level-headed kid, so to see him cut loose is a rare and glorious thing!
Pam, Tim is your husband, right? The doctor was saying how much more difficult and painful it is for 'older' people to have them out, which is part of the reason they wanted my son's out...it's just a matter of time before they'll cause problems and he'll thank us in the long run. I never got mine out, but mine aren't situated in my mouth the same way Brendan's are.
A couple of his friends had it done recently (all 4, just like Bren's), and had a tough time with the recovery. Would you believe Brendan is FINE??? There is no bleeding, no swelling, no discoloration of skin, and no.......PAIN!!! He's not even on TYLENOL!! I'm trying to give it to him and he's like MOM, I don't need it!!!! Leave me aloooooone! LOL! He's playing video games and acting like he could have even been in school today! It's unreal. Must be all those prayers at work!!! _________________

Love the smiles! It is fun to see people like that; make blackmailing at a later date so fun! _________________

| I'm glad Brendan's feeling okay, Amy. Sorry I'm late coming to this thread, but I'll say a prayer that he continues to do well! _________________

| I'm usually late here too. But I'll be praying for your Brendan fast recovery.
I laughed a lot when I read what he did when he came from dentist! I remember one of my great aunties, who had clinical depression, and when doctors gave some medicines to help her, she was so happy that his son began to worry. She was TOO HAPPY, and would sing out loud and dance while doing her housechores. When his son saw what she was taking (a too heavy medicine) he went to the doctor and make him to change it to a milder one. Finally, all things returned to normality.

Well sure....IF it's documented properly! Unfortunately all I have is my version of the story! He is ALREADY denying that he did any of this CrAzY stuff!!! LOL!!!
Thank you Misti, Christina & Vanesa!
LOL Vanesa...that's hilarious about your great aunt! Poor thing though...I'll bet doing the chores isn't nearly as much fun anymore! _________________

| Glad to hear your son, Brendan, is feeling much better, Amy. Since Brendan denied everything, I will say a prayer for you now, so that people do not think that you are the crazy one, being that you have a reputation of waving your bra openly on this forum..........

Yes, Tim is my husband. It was very painful for him. Partly it was because it wasn't fully erupted and they had to go into bone to remove it. They kept telling me that they wanted me to have my wisdom teeth removed. But, after seeing what he went through, and since mine do not bother me in even the slightest, they can stay right where they are.
How is your son doing now? _________________

ROFL Lily...yep, seems BOTH Misti and I have earned a reputation for ourselves around here! If my RL friends and family only knew the 'real' me!
And Pam, that sounds just awful, what your hubby had to endure. That's part of the reason we wanted to get this done and out of the way for Brendan...the doc said they'd have to go eventually. The bad thing is that insurance will only pay half. We have a $950 bill!! OUCH. We already have SO much $$ going out of his senior year, and now THIS. But I guess we can just be thankful that we never had to get him braces...most people don't get that lucky.
Thanks again Ladies! _________________

Too bad he knows you don't have any documentation on his antics.

| Thats something I'm sure glad you only have to do once! I was 22 with a one year old baby at the time, and it was really tough. I only had three wisdom teeth, so that was a little less to do..but they all had to be cut out. YUCK! I'm sure in the next few years that one year old baby that is now 15 will be going through the same thing!!!!! CANT WAIT! _________________ It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. | My son gets his stitches out tomorrow morning...he can't wait! The pain has been minimal, but the stitches are bugging him. I can imagine!
Gin, yep, your son's time is coming! Well, probably anyway...there are those people (like myself) that just don't ever have to get them out because of the angle in which they came in. I'm a lucky girl!
And Gin, you and I both started our families young...I was 20 when I had Brendan! _________________

| yep Amy...young I sure was....but my husband was 29 at the time we had Nathan. I told him we better get started or he would be telling me he was too old to have any. I think he's glad now that our youngest is 11 and he is 44. Two was all he wanted tho. and that made me a little sad. I wanted one more. I have to admit though on the wildest days I am glad two is our number! _________________ It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. | Seems we've lived duplicate lives Gin! LOL! My hubby was 27 when we had our oldest! Woo hoo...Amy and Gin, goin' for the older men! He's the same way...he's happy that our youngest is 13 and he's 45. And we only have two kids too! For me though, I felt too young when I quit (it's hard to accept that you're 'done' when you're only 25! But in the long run I think it will be nice...we've never been able to travel, nor did we have a honeymoon, so I keep thinking how our time is coming now. (ahem, that is, once we get the kids through college! ). _________________
