I love this episode! My favorite I think. Great acting, great drama and super guest - Ernest Borgnine was awesome as Jonathan. Wasn't Michael great at showing emotion?

Yes it was. There was so much chemistry between Melissa and Michael... Always great to watch the scenes they shared... BTW, Beckie. Love your new avatar _________________

My problem is that I see NO chemistry at all between Mary and their fictional parents. However, Laura and Albert had a lot of emotional scenes with Charles and Caroline... Vanesa. _________________

I never saw the second part of this episode, but I did see all of the first part. I have to say that I understand why Charles was paying more attention to his son than he was to Laura. He had always wanted a son and he was so happy that he finally had a son. Laura was not right to wish that her brother would die but then again it is understandable that she was upset.

This episode in my opinion, could very well be the crowning acheivement for Michael Landon. His values we're sacred, and they were on display in every aspect within this episode. A brillant performance by all who were part of this special episode. I have the entire series on dvd, and I would not give it away for all the money in the world. Many Blessings.

| What a rollercoaster of emotions in this 2 parter, not only for the actors but for us viewers as well. I think Mike, Karen and Melissa proved what outstanding actors they were in this episode and I'm sure it must have been mentally draining for them. I know Mike and Melissa's scene at the end was great but the one that always sets me off is just after the baby dies, when Caroline and Charles recite The Lord Is My Shepherd. _________________ "To change your life takes a lot of courage and energy. | Another powerful scene in this one is when Charles breaks down just after stepping off the horse to fill the canteen. Mr. Edwards just stands there, not knowing what to do or say. And then, just when all hope seems lost, the cross comes floating in as Charles is filling the canteen. _________________ |
