We got at least a foot. It's hard to tell since it blew around so much last night.

We are having rolling poweroutages in our area....obviously I haven't rolled yet..lol.
Some schools may let out by Friday here if we have sleet. Its only 28 degrees now.

I can't even get my back door open. Too much snow back there. Lori, you must've gotten way more than a foot, because it looks like we got about two here. The drifts are over 4ft. tall in some areas! WOW.

Opie was with me when I went to TRY to take a photo of the backyard - but since I couldn't get the door open, I snapped a shot of him assessing the snow:

It was so funny watching the dogs out there this morning...especially Jenna, our short and 'plump' beagle. HeeHee

I'm not certain how much my spot on the map received but I'm guessing around a foot.
Drifts are anywhere from a foot to eight feet!
My brother said that his drive way is a steady shoulder-high drift!
The plow hasn't even made it down my road yet.

I was in Nebraska on Monday. I was supposed to leave on Tuesday but after reading the weather reports I left on Monday.
On Monday there was a freezing rain so I didn't leave until later in the morning as I wanted the salt on the roads to have been down for a while.
After driving 130 miles I saw seventeen cars in the ditch!
Thankfully by the time I hit the roads the roads were pretty good.
By the time I reached Illinois though the wind had picked up and I had to drive on snowy roads, but at least there was almost always tire tracks down to the pavement so it wasn't all that bad.

Between yesterday and today we had about 14 more inches. For the past couple of hours it's been sleeting. What fun!

I saw your Opie picture on Facebook Savannah. That is so cute.

Yikes, you're almost as bad as us with the white stuff.

Do you think this storm coming on Saturday will bury the lamppost?

Pretty soon we won't be able to see from the 2nd floor!

I went out on the roof today (around the windows in that picture) to see if I could clear some of the snow. Not a good idea. I tore a hole in one of the screens--second one this winter--and the inside of Sarah's room got all wet. Not to mention that I had icicles dripping on my head the whole time.

At least I didn't fall off; though I did drop the shovel once and had to go downstairs and outside to get it out of the snowcovered bushes. laugh3

Yikes, glad you didn't get hurt out there Cheryl! Actually, that brings back a horrible memory of a lady I know who last year had hung her Christmas lights from her two story house, WHILE her husband and son were out of town hunting. She fell and laid on the ground for hours before someone drove by and saw her lying on the ground....they live in a country home set way off the road. She's had three back surgeries since that time. No

So be careful out there, little missy! yes (Better yet, let the hubby do it. Wink )

You gotta do what you gotta do. My hubby works all day, so it's me or risk the roof collapsing. We're having too many reports of people even with pitched roofs suffering a collapse to ignore it. All the home improvement stores are out of roof rakes and ice choppers.

By the way Amy, that sign you posted, I think is from a town around here. It made the local news.

After hearing in the news of all the problems being caused by this winter snow, I feel guilty for living in a 'no snow on the ground' zone lol

Stay warm and safe!

I might move in with you, Carol. This is ridiculous.

Well, battled my fear of heights today and crawled back on to the roof and cleared it. I had borrowed our neighbor's roof rake, so I was able to get a lot of the snow safely from the ground, but still spent an hour on the porch roof clearing it. I doubt I could have gotten hurt if I slipped. There is over 5 feet of snow to break my fall.
