As well as watching LHOTP, I'm currently watching the Waltons, series 5. This was shot in 1975.
What is up with the colours? There is a predominance of red, brown and orange, (and not just because of all those red-headed kids!) greens show up quite well but the colours are definitely off. I know that LH doesn't have this issue, and it's not my Samsung TV.
Colour TV showed up later in the UK than the US, but we had a system that showed greater resolution, so British shows from the same period generally looked better, but I don't think that's the issue here.
It reminds me of earlyish model TVs which generally didn't have a good handle on colour - there could be a brownish, purplish or greenish tint, and those TVs frequently broke down.
Wasn't the Waltons a huge show by then and with a big budget? Anyone have any ideas?
