Met Jake and Rachel at the eye doctor. They dilated his little eyes....3 separate times.  Bless his little heart....Eyes checked out good, no problems there. Appointment at Children's Hospital in Little Rock on July 8. Why oh why don't they get in a hurry when checking on these things? Found out yesterday, that not only is Cerebral Palsy on the table, but Muscular Dystrophy....Many prayers still needed. After we got back to the house, and started putting dinner together for everyone, Jake got called to work.  He works for the Army Corps on the Lock and Dams.  With all the flooding, he was needed to help open and close the gates.  SO SCARY!  Yikes He called me as he was driving home, and I was on my way home; helped keep me awake and alert for at least an hour on the road.  Loved my snuggling time yesterday and being able to see my kids.....  Love

Thanks for the update, Rhonda....prayers continue for Wyatt! I know this will feel like a very long wait for this July 8th appointment. Try to stay positive and hope for the best. I'm so glad you were able to go and be with everyone!

Wish they would get him in sooner too. So sorry you all are faced with such a scare. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Prayers continue. It is so tough to wait on these things. Hopefully they can move this along and figure out what is happening.

Thanks, Everyone, I appreciate it and I know Jake and Rachel do as well.

Rachel messaged me today that Wyatt will start physical therapy at the Gregory Kistler Center.  It has been in the area for a long, long time, and have done wonders for children with all kinds of problems.  He still hasn't any diagnosis, but the earlier PT can start, the better.

Rachel bought Wyatt a "Tummy Time Pillow" which seems to help in strengthening his little neck. It has toys attached to the sides, so it makes him have to reach out and use more shoulder movement.  He still hasn't had any PT in, but hope to soon.  Please keep praying for him, it's helping a LOT!
Love

Thanks, Everyone!  He's pretty special, he is.....

Wyatt had his PT Evaluation this morning.  Here is what they said, "He has a little bit of torticollis (stiff neck on left side) hypotonic (low muscle tone) in his upper body.. She wants to see him 2x week until he catches up and she gave me exercises to do at home. She's very confident that he's going to catch up soon."  Keep praying, God is listening!

My poor baby just can't seem to get a break!  Jake and Rachel had to take Wyatt up to the ER, and the doctor has now checked him in for over night.  This is from Rachel:
"He was really lethargic and not acting right and w what happened the other day (Apparently Wyatt got choked and stopped breathing, his lips turned blue, and Rachel called an ambulance. By the time they got there, his was breathing and color had returned)  they sent him over here to get full work up on him.
Dr just left.. Apparently Wyatt has a heart murmur-- idk if it's new or not? He has been seen by different drs and this one is the only who has said anything. He will have EKG and brain ultrasound tomorrow"

Rachel just called me from the hospital and they have been working over 45 minutes just to get an IV in.  She is afraid they may have to put it in his head.  No   Prayers please.....  I will keep you updated!

Wyatt Update: Wyatt was released Sunday afternoon, and is glad to be home and away from needles. EKG results came in and Wyatt has an Atrial septum defect; which is a small hole in his heart.  This is what is causing the heart murmur, and he should outgrow it.  Jake's granddaddy had a heart murmur, and Jake's older brother had one as well.  We appreciate the prayers as more and more of the puzzle pieces are put together to figure out what is going on with this little guy.

From Rachel.  She heard back from Children's Hospital.....Keep those prayers coming...Thank you!  Love  Prader-Willi Syndrome

"Wyatt for sure has Prader-Willi Syndrome. We have an appt Sept 17th in Lowell and I'll be able to ask all my questions. I got to ask her some but my mind wasn't clear. So if there is anything you want to know that you can't find on Internet or that I don't know, send them and I'll write it down.

He will be able to live a normal life as long as we control what he eats. He will have some delayed motor skills (obviously, that's why he's in PT), she said to expect some learning disabilities, behavior issues that can range from (mild to severe). She said everyone is different. She said it's good that Wyatt is a good eater right now because a lot of them aren't.

We will see a nutritionist (the whole family) who will teach us, along with many other specialists."

What a handsome little man your grandson is Rhonda! I am sorry to hear about his hospital stay, and as scary as it must be to find out what has been going on, it must also be a relief to have a diagnosis now. I will keep Wyatt and the rest of your family in my thoughts!

UPDATE:  Wyatt had a Sleep Study done last Thursday night.  Rachel got partial results from Wyatt's Sleep Study. "Wyatt had some episodes of apnea during sleep study. Now we follow up with sleep Dr/ENT.  No growth hormones until he has a clear Sleep Study.  One of the side effects of GH is apnea."

Wyatt has an appointment next Wednesday in Little Rock with the Urologist, and they may try to get him in with the Dr/ENT to talk to him since she will already be there.  Jake has to work, so I am hoping to drive down Tuesday evening, and go with Rachel and Wyatt on Wednesday.  Seems a lot of his appts are in the middle of the week; which makes it difficult for Jake to always be able to take off, so I may be burning rubber to the road to be there for Rachel and that sweet little guy.
