October 20, 1915
It was 100 years ago today that Rose sent a letter to her Papa (Almanzo) explaining why Bess (Laura) hadn't written to him.  She was hurt by a streetcar the week before.  But all was well.
It was not her fault at all. She was going downtown with Gillette, and he jumped off the street car while it was going full speed. She stood up suddenly, surprised by the what he did, and fell of, striking the back of her head on the stone pavement.  Things looked pretty bad for awhile, but they got her to a hospital right away and the doctor said there was no danger, it was only a superficial wound, no fracture or anything like that. She is coming home today.

This is week 27 of construction.  The front is having landscape work done and concrete being poured for the walkway in front. I have a view of the front lawn at Laura's farm house to the new museum. You have to visualize a path that we are going to make.  It's going to be so nice to be able to walk the whole way from the Museum to the white farm house and then over to the Rock house.  With your help we can get it all finished.

The museum lit up at night.  This was taken by the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home and Museum at their Christmas at Laura's on December 4th.  Looks like most everything is finished up; just needing the paths from one building to the other.  For those who would like to help, you can donate to the cause using the link in the above thread.  I know they would really appreciate it.
