PostSubject: The weather    Mon Jan 06, 2014 4:05 pm

Honestly, the CHANGE as it happens has given me fits this year. I have been getting such sinus headaches when a front comes through. I have been talking to my doctor about what to do to prevent such pressure in my head when that happens. As of now, I am on a mixture of flonase, and Allegra. Still waiting for my left ear to unplug.
I know you all experience cold in the negative numbers. I don't know how you stand it. Texas has not known cold like this in many years. It hasn't gotten out of the 20's today with a North 15 mile an hour wind. THAT has only been our LOW a few times since I have lived here. (13 years)
I am hoping the these TX size mosquitoes get zapped and we will have a decent summer without so many. There has to be something good of it right??

on Friday it was below zero in Connecticut, and today it was almost fifty degrees outside. I don't know how the weather changes so quickly, but I can't get used to it. I never know if I should put on an extra sweater before going outside or not.

Ok, I know that I am the weird one here but I love winter.  You will never hear me complain about it.  I will take this over summer any day.  I must admit, it doesn't have to be this cold, its a bit extreme but I am ok with it as long as  everyone is safe.  I can live much more comfortably when I have to move to get warm than die of heat and humidity in the summer.

I am the EXACT same way. People really think I am crazy for it. I don't care. I am just miserable in heat and humidity. I always say that sunny days give me headaches. I didn't need it to be as cold as it was (if I remember correctly the wind chill here got to 45 below zero). I swear I was in the house and the parts of my thighs that got frostbite a couple of weeks ago started to hurt again. That shouldn't happen when you're in the house! Otherwise, I am fine with dark, gloomy, cool weather. yes

School was canceled again today in Minneapolis because of the dangerous wind chills. Our temp this morning was -18 and a wind chill of -35. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 30 above. Can you believe that? Then, the polar air comes back.

We are on a roller coaster of temps as well. They haven't cancelled school tho. I have seen parents and teachers on the news talking about how to keep the kids safe in the negative wind chills. For the kids that walk to school, their parents have driven them to make sure they aren't in this nasty cold....  cold

In the 20's here today. We have ice everywhere. I have to go to work at 1 p.m. so hoping I don't slide all the way there. Clay called to say he arrived safely but saw 6 wrecks on the way.
I doubt we will be able to get freight today. All Hobby Lobby trucks come from OK city.

Madison is a happy boy though. School is out and he doesn't have to work today either. I think I will make him a chore list. he! he!

It was 10 degrees below zero when I woke up this morning, and as of now the temperature has gone up to 10 above zero. This is the second time this winter we've had a cold snap where the temperature has hovered around zero for several days in a row. I hope this one is over soon, I don't like having to put on multiple layers of clothing before going outside!

I hope everyone else is staying warm! This is the coldest winter I can remember in CT, so I'm wondering if other areas are experiencing colder temperatures than usual, as we are here.

So I hear-tell that we mid-Westerners have it colder than Canada AND Alaska.  Can that be true?! OhMy

It's going to be around -30 wind chill tonight and as low as -27 tomorrow.

My son's college closed for today and we're waiting for official word that it will be closed for tomorrow.  These temps are dangerous!  I live right by MSU and they just closed for tomorrow.

Ok, winter! I'm done with you!! Yikes

It's been pretty crazy here, too. My area happens to be in a part of the county that got about 10" of snow over the past few days. Other parts of Ionia got like. . .4-5"! (I'm not complaining. I love the snow!) Now. . . this arctic air, I could do without. I'm SO glad that they've been calling off school for this wicked cold. It's miserable out there. I have to open at work tomorrow, and the windchill in the morning is supposed to be -20, then drop to -40! Yikes! See. . . I LOVE winter. . . but I don't love the ARCTIC. There IS a difference. HeeHee Even *I* am done with THIS weather!  Laughing   And you know that's saying a lot for ME to say that.

School is canceled AGAIN tomorrow!  These wind chills are unbelievable!  Northern MN must have wind chills at -60 if ours are at -40.
