PostSubject: Re: The weather    Mon Mar 03, 2014 9:36 am

Clay and I cleaned up our front yard yesterday afternoon. I GOT HOT, Sun was shining and it was at least 75 degrees. Rain came in by 5 p.m. and ALL that changed. It was in the 20's when I woke this morning and possible sleet tonight.
My spring flowers are trying to make an appearance but they might just get bit off tonight.
Hoping Arkansas weather gets better by next Monday because we are trying to go back home for our spring break.

I feel the same way. There's just no let-up. Our temps have been at least 20 degrees below normal for this time of year.

Ice here today.  It rained and rained, then the ice started.   I listened to a large branch hit a neighbors house this morning at 6 a.m.   She had a tree top about 8 yrs ago, go through the roof and land in her bed!  She was up this morning when this happened thank goodness!
Temps are supposed to come up later, but it's NASTY outside.   Heidi is taking care of business as quick as possible!

We know how Laura Ingalls Wilder described the winter of 1880-81, when blizzard after blizzard pounded the settlement town of DeSmet, in what was then Dakota Territory. But what would she have to say about the winter of 2013-2014?

National Weather Service meteorologist and climatologist Barbara Mayes Boustead did a broadcast on a Detroit radio station to see how ours measures up to what Laura experienced.

It's finally clearng up. It had been raining all morning into the early afternoon. Had a nasty Thunderstorm this past Monday. Knocked tree branches down. I don't miss the cold Indiana weather.

I would take that! It's 35 degrees here and was snowing for a bit earlier today!

It was snowing here yesterday, too. And I *think* that I saw a few snowflakes a moment ago, but I'm not sure.

21c or 70f here today - most unusual for April. Even in July/August the average high is 65f. The average hottest day of the year is only 77f, some years only getting to around 73f.

Saturday is predicted to be 45f max.
