Much of my artistic skills are in writing and photography. But... when I'm out shopping, I love looking at the wall hangings that are quotes painted on canvasses that you can buy in stores. Those can get kind of expensive, however, so I decided to try making my own! These are the first two I've made, I finished them both this afternoon. I had fun painting them. I wanted to share pictures of them since both quotes I used are ones that I really like.

My Paintings 19813_10

This is a quote by Sir Edmund Hillary, the first known man to summit Mount Everest. These words really relate to some things I'm working through in my life right now, so this was the first quote I chose to paint.

This quote was said by my favorite character in one of my favorite books.

Applause I'm especially fond of the first quote. I love it that you decided to paint your own wall hanging! Thanks for sharing them with us, Kristina! (And I LOVE your avatar! SO cute.)

Thank you, Savannah! I had a lot of fun painting these, so I plan on making some more. I just need to get to the store to pick up some more canvases, and decide which quotes I want to use. Smile

My miniature horse, Mooney, is my avatar picture. We have dressed him up in many costumes over the years (a picnic table, a hot dog, bunny ears, a unicorn) and for St. Patrick's day I put a shiny green bow in his hair cowboyR

thank you everyone! Smile

I haven't had as much time as I'd like to paint lately, but I am thinking of making a couple of pictures for others for Christmas presents. In the store I work in, they have some wall hangings with Christmas-themed sayings on them and I was thinking of buying one for a friend for Christmas until I remembered that I can make one myself!
