"Chuckles Bites the Dust"

Here's a classic scene from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" back in the '70s. The WJM news family has lost one of their own. Chuckles the Clown, host of a kids' show, was killed in a freak accident - he was marching in a parade dressed up like a giant peanut, and a rogue elephant crushed him to death.

Beloved though he was, his co-workers are struck by the irony of his death and can't stop making jokes about it. Except for Mary. She's appalled at their callousness. Then comes the day of the funeral, and everyone manages to get serious. Almost everyone...

I've never actually seen that whole episode, even though I love The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Oh my gosh!! That was one of my all time favorite shows in the 70's and that episode was hilarious!! Their "repor" with each other on that show reminds me of the Seinfeld show.
