Does anyone know how to play poker? I watch it on tv and have no idea what they are doing, lol. I like watching it thought because I like to hear their conversations. But I'd like to know what they are doing when they play so I can fully enjoy it.

SPOONS! That used to be a family tradition to play at Thanksgiving and Christmas when my Grandma on my Dad's side was still alive. We used to have SO MUCH fun at that! Sometimes, when the game would get really intense......one of my Uncles, who wasn't playing, would walk through the room, and when nobody was watching him, smack his hand down on the table. Of course, everyone would think that someone had taken a spoon - and EVERYONE would make a mad dive for the spoons! :Hahaha:
I hadn't thought about that in so long......

Really? I'd be too big of a coward.

I do play cards against my computer sometimes. Mostly Hearts, and Spades. Bridge is also a neat game, but it can take a long time to get good at it. It's kind of like the chess of card games.

ROTFL Yeah, that will get everyone frantic to grab a spoon. LOL
What I also did was ... if I had all my cards.... I would quietly and discretely grab my spoon... so people would still be playing! LOL Then all of a sudden someone sees me w/ a spoon and they all dive in. Laughing Good times!

I've played quite a bit of Texas Hold'em, but I wouldn't want to do it for real money. I'm not that good.

I AM, however, a pretty decent Blackjack player. I made a few bucks in Nevada playing it years ago. Pretty fun, and you can play a long time for not much money if you're not a bad player and go to the low-roller tables.

But, being a true Midwesterner, I generally just stick with Euchre. The most betting we ever do on that is a dollar a point, two for setting, and 3 for a skunk. You won't get rich, but you can play forever.

Yeah at http://fulltiltpoker.net. I'd be to intimidated to play against them too. Poker seems so complicated. I play solitaire and free cell on my computer.

I really admire the women that play since it's a man dominated game.

I don't know how to play poker, I watched Melissa Gilbert's sister Sara playing it on TV once, she looked real cool sitting there playing.

Awesome. A lot of stars are getting in on it. Gable Kaplan (Welcome Back Cotter) is into it and he is an announcer. Actresses Jennifer Tilly and Shannon Elizabeth both play too! Wish I could have seen Sara play!

Same here. It's fun to play for fun though, LOL. I would never play for real money though, I'm no where near that good!
