There's yet another recall of bagged fresh spinach because of a positive test for salmonella.

The spinach is distributed under the label Metz Fresh, in both retail and food service packages. These include 10 and 16 oz bags as well as 4-2.5 lb and 4 lb cartons. the only Metz Fresh product affected is spinach that bears the tracking codes 12208114, 12208214 and 12208314. it was distributed in the continental United States and Canada
There are no immediate reports of illness related to this spinach.
The recall comes nearly a year after an outbreak of another pathogen, E. coli, in fresh spinach killed three people and sickened another 200.
Salmonella sickens about 40,000 people a year in the U.S. and kills about 600. It can cause diarrhea, fever, dehydration, abdominal pain and vomiting.

Don't be so scared. If you washes it carefully with some three drops of some desinfectant, there is no more problem. They are wishing people not buying more fresh food.

Thanks Beckie...I'm fine, but it just makes me nervous to think about. Makes me nervous to go out to eat anywhere! Or, even buy food b/c you never know what you could be getting.
