PostSubject: LH vocabulary   Sun Oct 07, 2007 7:27 pm

I was going over my 11 year old's vocabulary words with her the other day. We got to the word hindrance, and she couldn't remember what it meant. I told her the definintion in her book--something that gets in the way. She says, "You mean like Carrie?" ROTFL

When she was younger she used to always ask what something meant, and as soon as I gave her the meaning she would say, "You mean like on Little House when ... " My response was always, "Yes, Erin, that is exactly what it means." So apparently LH is entertaining and good for vocabulary lessons as well.

:haha: Yep, Carrie sure could be a hindrance, but at least she could milk the cows!

I really think it's sad what they did to the character of Carrie.

I agree. Laura and Carrie were very close in the books. It's too bad they didn't have the same relationship on the show.

The thing that really bothers me so much is that Carrie seems to remain a toddler even when she was as far as 7 or 8 years old. In the last season she appeared, using pigtails, like Laura, she was not a toddler any more, but she would barely speak...What a bad thing the writers have done to her character! mad

Vanesa.

Yes, that made no sense to me. They seemed to care more about Cassandra and James than they did Carrie.

I just saw another great scene involving Carrie. She wakes up and calls to Caroline, "Maaaa, there's something crawling on me!!!" Caroline runs in and pulls the covers down, and Bandit jumps down off the bed.

I agree that they really tried to keep her character younger than she was for some reason. In the books, she had a bigger role even. She and Laura were a lot closer after Mary went away to the blind school. i wish they could have shown some of that, even with the addition of the other children.

Yes. But the "other children" overshadowed poor Carrie. That's not fair at all! mad No However, I agree that Cassandra could really act, and the Greenbush Twins seems that...oh, well...that they are NOT born to be actresses. Just a tought on there... batEyes
