I'll be going high speed! grinsmiley

I'm on dial-up right now, and haven't been very pleased with the service for several months now. It disconnects, and takes bloomin' forever to load pages sometimes.....Well, I was talking to my brother about it, and we started looking at the service that he's using. We found out that AT&T offers a high speed service that's actually $80 less a year than I'm paying now for dial up! So, we're waiting for the modem to come, and then Aaron will come over and help me set up the service. :woohooo: Plus, the modem ends up being free after a rebate. I love deals like that. Cool

YAY Savannah.....once you start speeding, you'll never turn back!!! We used to have dial up and then went with cable internet. The difference was UNBELIEVABLE!!! I always compared it to reading a book.

Dial-up vs. High Speed

Dial-up: Reading a book, get to the end of the page, get up and walk across the room to do something, come back and you might be able to read the next page.

High Speed: Reading a book, get to the end of the page, turn the page and continue reading. :haha:

I too used to have dial-up, it was a nightmare... couldn't see any videos, etc....
When I got high-speed I was blown away and a new world of the internet opened up to me. grinsmiley

Oh, you'll love it! The difference is night and day. I just got broadband last July, and I'd never go back.

Like Carol said, you'll be able to watch videos. And you can listen to internet radio without the constant interruptions and rebuffering. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and it used to take an hour to download a long one. Now it just takes minutes.

I know the feeling though. While we've always had high speed, we just recently got rid of our ancient computer, which was very, very, very slow. It got to the point to where I didn't even bother watching video clips because they took forever to download. Now that we've gotten our new computer, I've been catching up on all I've been missing.

Oh, I am having way too much fun!! I've been watching video clips like crazy because it was something I couldn't do on dial-up. LOL!

There are some very interesting video clips out there! Historical, musical, sweet, touching........ridiculous........ :Hahaha:

There are dozens of clips of birds whistling The Andy Griffith Show theme song! :Hahaha: I LOVE it!

Then, there was a tribute to Roger Bennett (one of my piano heroes) that made me cry. It was really beautiful......and there are lots of Mark Lowry clips that always make me laugh.......NOW.......I want to go find a clip of someone playing The Minute Waltz in ONE MINUTE. Cool
