Do you know this song?

A friend of mine from Australia is trying to find the name and singer of a song that she taped off the radio years ago. She said it's from the 60s, sung by a man, with female backup singers. Here's part of her e-mail:


The lyrics go something like...

'"Can't you hear the beating of my heart
beating for you
Beating for you
Trying to tell me that I've fallen in love
Oh baby I'm so proud

How I love the way you hold me
So close, to your heart
Tell me that you've missed me dear
Since we've been apart"

I can't find the tape so some words may be wrong but most of it is right. If you can answer this you will have my eternal gratitude.

That's what I thought to Jacob, except the words differ a little and I didn't hear any women backup singers...
