Okay, so I thought it would be fun to write out a voicemail greeting from a character of LHOTP. You can make them funny or serious, whatever floats your boat



I'll start and this is Harriet's greeting:

"Nels? Is this thing on? (Nel's voice in background: Yes Dear) Ah... very well... You have reached Harriet Oleson, I am not home right now as I am on a mission involving money & profits so if you are kind enough to leave your name and number, I will return your call. (Silence) ... Okay machine you can beep now... Come on now Beep! Neeelllllssss! Oh for heavens sake, this thing won't --- "

*BEEP*

lol Carol!

You have brains in your head, that's for sure, Carol!

I loved it...But Imagine what will happen if the one who records the message in the "Beep" machine is Nellie...or, worse, nancy!

You have reached the Oleson residence. How do you like our answering machine? My ma sent all the way to San Francisco for it you know. We're the first and only family to have one in Walnut Grove. My ma says that only people of high society have answering machines. Well, they do cost a pretty penny, but everyone knows that our family can afford it.
Please leave your message after the beep and we will return your call at our convenience.
Oh, and if you are Laura Ingalls, don't bother leaving a message for we will delete it promptly.

As all the "old timers" on here know, John and Sarah Carter drove me crazy on that show and that is probably one of the dumbest lines ever written in the show!! All I do is scream out at the television, "you are a Michael Landon wannabee" "go away"!!

You have reached the home of Charles and Caroline Ingalls. Me and that "great big galoot" are unavailable right now as we have just relocated after losing our farm in Walnut Grove. The Carter family now live in our old shack but if you leave a message we'll return your call as soon as we finish building the new house, baking up a batch of cookies and telling Carrie that we'll be settling in soon so she doesn't wet her pants again". I didn't like the Carter's living in the little house.

Monica, I'm guessing there's not a single Little house fan out there who actually liked them living there. I'm really not sure what Michael Landon was thinking...he should have known that we would all have felt like there were intruders in the beloved Ingalls home!
