Is Britney's little sis pregnant?

I certainly hope not, but the ever-reputable National Enquirer is allegedly reporting that she is. Whether or not she is with child, 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears does seem eager to follow in her big sister's footsteps. She stars on Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 and while she may never match her sister's fame, she certainly seems to be giving it a try.

I can't help but wonder how Britney's very public meltdown has affected this girl. One would hope she would see Britney's life as a warning on what not to do, but maybe not. According to the reports, Jamie Lynn is looking to shack up with her 19-year-old boyfriend, Casey Aldridge - presumably the father of her alleged unborn child.

Britney's mom can't do much about her older daughter's screw ups anymore - she is a legal adult. But why in the world would she let her sixteen year old daughter date a nineteen year old man? Three years age difference might not be much when you are in your twenties - but at sixteen, this girl is still a child.

Oh my. Yeah I agree, what a great role model she has to look up to . That's quite young to become pregnant. But it's not unheard of - remember Keisha Castle Hughes from 'Whale Rider'? She was only 16 when she got pregnant and 17 when she had her baby. Oh well.

I´ve read a whole different story. That Jamie Lynn has cut the connection with Brtiney because she thinks she´s gone too far. Maybe that´s not such a bad thing considering that as you all say Britney always was a role model for her little sister...

Hope this story about her being pregnant is a false one. That would be so sad. But it´s not like she had the best examples in front of her... an advice: Don´t go into show business as a kid. It destroys you!!!

16 is totally waaaay to young to be pregnant. A young woman of that age is still growing yet. But then again a lot of things that were not acceptable then are now. This one girl I was good friends with in high school got pregnant our senior year. Her mother didn't even seem to be upset.

Luckily there are a few child start that didn't fall into drugs and stuff. Take Matt Labyorteaux for instance.

I actually learned in my child development class that a baby being born to a woman under the age of 18 is just as likely to have Down Syndrome as a woman over 30! I didn't realize that, but it totally makes sense.

I commend Jamie Lynn for taking the hard road and actually having this baby (she is totally ruining what would have been a promising career), but it certainly is a sad situation.

I personally think that 16 is way too young to be having a baby! Guess NIK will cancel Zoey 101!

Standing in the checkout lane, I saw an article that was saying that the family is "shocked" that she's pregnant. Well.......I have to say, that's pretty silly. It isn't as if it happens without any warning. . . . . . you just wake up one morning and look down and say "My stars, how did THAT happen??". When you make choices in your behavior, and engage in activities that you know can lead to pregnancy, then certainly, you have to expect that it could happen.

But, I agree with you, Amy, and commend her for taking responsibility, and actually having the baby.

I totally agree, Savannah! She knew what she was doing and she knew all the precautions out there, so I think that it was planned. It's sad she had to resort to that.

yup..i heard she is...Can't belive it...either....a lot of girls in this day of age get prgeant at 16..(not saying it's a good thing) I think 16 is why to young to have a baby..

but i do wish her the best tho!!
