Have you ever gotten lost? Well this woman did, and she didn't get home until 25 years later!

DUSONGYO, Thailand (AFP) - A Thai mother who was lost for 25 years after catching the wrong bus home has spoken of her ordeal after being reunited with her family thanks to simple song.

The last time Jaeyaena Beuraheng saw her seven children was in 1982 when she left south Thailand on one of her regular shopping trips across the border to nearby Malaysia.

She never returned, and police later told her family that she had apparently been killed in a traffic accident.

In fact, Jaeyaena had simply taken the wrong bus home -- an error that would have been easy to fix except that she only speaks the local dialect of Malay known as Yawi, according to officials at the homeless shelter where the 76-year-old has lived for two decades.

Wow... I feel sorry for this woman... what she went through, but... if I were her, I don't know, I think I would have grabbed a book and point to the place where she's from... find a way to comunicate or something! What about phones, WRITING A LETTER ... something! Frying pan lol.. it can be done I believe.
25 years... wow... well at least she's home now

I have gotten lost before - in fact, I almost always manage to get lost, specifically right in the town I have lived in almost all my life. But to be lost for 25 years? Oh my goodness! LOL.

ROTFL Okay..........there's an episode of Arthur where the little boy dreams that he takes the wrong bus, and doesn't have enough change to pay to get home. The bus driver won't let him off, and he spends the next 25 years on the bus........... ROTFL
I shouldn't laugh...........She *has* to have some other issues going on, other than just a language barrier. I mean, she most likely learned the language of the area she came to live in - so why take so long? Weird. Just weird. But so similar to that Arthur episode!! :haha:

It is possible that this woman is illiterate and not very well educated. She might not be able to read or write...and might have never seen a map of her country to be able to point out her home. But you would think her dialect would have aided matters? You would think SOMEONE would know what region she came from based on her speech!
