So, I was wondering about this the other day: how did the women deal with their ' time of month'? I know today they have all that stuff, but then...

They used rags, which is why it is commonly referred to as being "on the rag".

And they must wash these rags every time they were dirty. Then, they must out on new ones.

I have some old magazines from 1920, and they were sanitary towels : the more popular of them were "Modess". And in Argentina we also had another one called "Sanatoalla" (and of course "Modess"). I laugh every time I read these publicities for they said that the women who uses these sanitary towels could keep her "modern life" as always, and make all the sport she wanted to...LOL. Very similar to publicity from nowadays... grinsmiley
