Back in the '70s, when the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry was at its fiercest, the legendary OSU coach Woody Hayes drove up to Michigan with an assistant to scout a high school player. That night they were on their way home, and the assistant began pulling into a gas station.
"Are we in Ohio yet?" asked the coach.
"No."
"Keep driving!"
"But we're almost out of gas!"
"Then we'll PUSH it across the border if we have to! We're not spending a nickel in this *%&$!# state!"
