Taxes are a good thing, though. Countries that don't tax probably have poor infrastructure, possibly non-existent health care, etc. It is only if taxes are misused that they are a bad thing, in my opinion.

Not particularly fond of this episode

This episode isn't one of my favorites, but I thought it was pretty good.

And the part where one of the townspeople, I think Mr. Hanson said, "Pretty soon they'll be taxing us on what we earn." And another man answered, "An income tax? No, not in a thousand years."

If they only knew how true they were.

Oh yes.

They would be more shocked and pissed off with today's taxes.

I thought it was funny when the clerk came out of the church and it was the same gentleman that plays Harriet's old beau, who was a minister in another episode.
It was funny too how Harriet, always bragging, couldn't help herself, as she went on about what they owned...and Nel's watched the bill rise. Smile
