Buy the prepackaged ones that are already made, they are always soft! I love baking the ones already made up.grinsmiley We make our own as well.

You can make most of your cookies soft and chewy by taking them out of the oven one minute before the recipe tells you to. I'll look and see if I have a particularly chewy cookie recipe - but taking them out of the oven one minute early makes a faboo soft cookie. Thumbsup

You forgot one step Larry........put the cookies in the microwave for about 10 seconds, gives it that fresh outta the oven taste.............my boys do that when (and if) I buy cookies.......I don't do it that often.............poor deprived children......

Kelsey loves to hear hers up in the microwave like that. They smell so good too! I don't dare try them though, because they may become habit forming.

Actually my favorite recipe is good ol' Nestle Tollhouse...right on the back of the package. YUM! Thumbsup

Jacob, if you don't care about the chocolate( OhMy ), and just want a soft chewy cookie, trying making Snickerdoodles. Those are super simple and I absolutely love them! Ahhhhh, it's been a long time!! No

This is pretty much just like my recipe....BUT, do NOT attempt to skip the cream of tartar...gotta have that! (ahem, I know from experience! Blech!! :sad5: )

On the other hand, leaving them in five minutes too late can result in "el burno!"
Whistle

But as far as cookies, I love to make them (when I do make them that is) homemade with the Nestle Toll House chips!
