PostSubject: Oh Happy Day...   Wed Mar 26, 2008 1:23 pm

This is my favorite day of the month..hubby gets paid! Well, this time, Damis got a paycheck, too! He's been working a few weeks and today was the day.

I went up to the high school to let him sign the check so I could cash it for him, (it was sealed; I didn't peek, unless holding it to the light qualifies as "peeking" and yes, I made him go outside so I could get a pic of him with his first check! I'm so mean! Anyway, it was $204.00 and here he is...

Here are the boys with their new 4-wheeler...

What a proud mommy you must be! Is he going to save his money, or did he have something special that he wanted to buy?

Well, he's got his truck insurance to pay, his cell phone...and he'll have a little left. Maybe when he has a full month paycheck, I'm gonna have him give me some to save for him.

How wonderful, Misti. Congratulations to Damis!! :woohooo:

I remembered my first paycheck from my first job, I went straight to the bank and opened a savings account. I was so proud, but I think my parents were even more proud. grinsmiley

Awww, the days of being carefree, huh? I used to be like that until reality, called marriage and kids, stripped me of every dime and still does!

I agree with that, Misti! The good old days of spending your check on what you want are gone for me, too.

Congratulations to Damis, that first paycheck is a great feeling. Cheer Cheer

Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow.

Congrats to Damis on his first paycheck! I have a picture like that of me holding my very first paycheck. It was a great feeling to know that I earned that money myself. I felt so grown-up!

The four-wheeler looks fun!!!

Congratulations, Damis! Misty, that's so sweet that you took a picture of him with his first paycheck. You remind me of myself with that. I'm always taking pictures of firsts. grinsmiley :camera:

If the kids only knew what we did. All they view us as is the "parents" and when you tell them of things you did (at least mine do) they look at me in disbelief. Of course, I don't tell it all! Yeah, we were all cool once....even if I thought thirty was old! Boy, am I regretting those words now!! It's been awhile since I've seen that age!

Don't sweat it. The fun rage at our age? Finding new and inventive ways to embarass your kids. That's always a good and enjoyable hobby, and quite fulfilling if you put thought into it.

Like making his stand up against his school building while I took a picture of him with his first paycheck! Cool Hey, at least I didn't make him stand inside the building, across from the office with several kids in there, which has big, glass windows!

That's not bad, but to reach pro status, you have to do stuff like this;

My nephew plays drums in a rock band (he's 13), and he was playing at an under 21 club a few weeks back. So, I'm there, camera flashing, saying WAY loud, "THAT'S MY NEPHEW ON DRUMS!"

And my daughter was on a date a few weeks back, and when the guy brought her home, I was waiting beside my truck. When he went to give her a kiss, I popped out and banged on the window and said "HEY! Did you kids have fun?"

Oh yeah. Paybacks can be fun if you let it.

Larry! ROTFL Were your nephew & your daughter mad at you for awhile?

That reminds me of tv commercial with the dad who's at "Inspiration Point" looking for his daughter by yelling out her name & looking in windows because she said she was going to be at her friend's house and she lied and the phone had no reception! ROTFL

Yeah, they were mad, and no, that crap in that commercial won't happen to me.

It as funny because he turns and looks at the camera saying that she won't be happy with him when Monday came and she is known as the kid who's dad was up at the point looking for her! He's like, "Sorry, pumpkin" but he's smirking!

There is no justice like Dad justice. You know why?

We remember when WE were young men, and it scares the heck out of us.
