This gives it a whole new different meaning of this old saying. Wink

About 6 or 7 years ago, we renovated our place, we donated some of our old stuff such as clothes, chairs and some furniture, to the salvation army in our neighborhood. One of the furniture we donated was a dinning chair that had been in our family for some 27 years, it was made out of solid wood with leather seat, needless to say, we didn't really want to get rid of it, but we just had no more place to keep it.

The other day, we were coming home and lo and behold, we saw that chair sitting on the curb, about a few blocks from my house. It looked like someone was getting rid of it, because the next morning was the garbage pick-up day. I quickly pulled over which nearly gave my mom a heart attack, she thought we were crashing into the tree. affraid

I got out and examined the chair and sure enough, it was our chair!! :woohooo: I threw it into my trunk and brought it home...again! The chair is a bit older and dirty, but that's ok, we can clean it up and actually it would have that rustic effect look, because some of the paint came off a bit, the leather seat is still in perfect condition though. I know this probably sounds like a corny story, but I'm so glad that I got my chair back. Cloud 9

How funny! every one's dream come true. Since I've moved so many times, I've had to part with so many things... I never see them again though.

Well, I take that back! I've seen my old clothes at the Goodwill. It gives one a strange feeling!

(I didn't want my clothes back though!)

I heard a similiar story once. A young child had gotten a sum of money, a bill of some amount, with a note written on it. It may have said something like, "Happy birthday Johnny" or whatever on it.
Years later, the same bill came back into that person's hands and they recognized it from years before. What chance of that happening, having the same bill of money twice, years apart!! Cool, huh?

Thank you everyone! It's great to be reunited with my chair. LOL!! What makes it even more special is that this chair was the one that my Dad always sat on, so it's meant to be back home.

Wow, Marilyn, that's really neat about that bill. I'm sure we had one time or another that we held the same bill twice but we just never knew it. I think there's a website that calls "where's george" or something similar, I remembered Rob had posted the link once. The site gives people to track their bills with registering the serial #'s. It's really cool.
