Thank you! The hospital is keeping Mom overnight, because they couldn't get her blood pressure to a point where they felt safe in letting her leave. The CAT scan didn't show anything conclusive, and neither did the chest x-ray. In the morning they're going to do a stress test. (If you ask me, this whole ordeal counts as a stress test.)

So, right now Mom is pretty tired, and is waiting for a room to be readied for her. She asked me to tell you all thank you for praying for her. And, I thank you, too.

Prayers for mom Savannah and for the rest of the family as you deal with all of this. I know God will provide healing to her and she will come home soon.

They did tell her that her thyroid isn't functioning at full capacity, and they figure that that may be part of why her heart has been racing. They did a stress test this morning, and also injected a dye to check for blockages. So, once the results are back, we'll hopefully know more.

I'm so sorry to hear this Savannah. I'll be praying for you mom. Hang in there kiddo!

Well, they're going to keep her one more night, at least. The test results won't be back until Thursday morning, so they're keeping her til they can read the results.

Her blood pressure is down to 130/90 the last time it was checked, which is much less frightening than 178/135!

That's wonderful news, Savannah!! I'm so glad that your mom's tests came back clear. I'm glad that she was able to come home and get some much needed rest. I hope that her new doctor is able to give her some advice about possible treatment for the wall of her heart that is beginning to thicken.

Somehow I totally missed this thread. I'm glad to hear that your mom is doing better. Has your mother ever been on blood thinners before? I was as a kid and it sure stopped my migraines, but I sure didn't want to cut myself. Those things always make me nervous.

I'll say a prayer that the doctor comes up with a good solution for her and that he can help her stay healthy.
