Marilyn, the book I got from the library was How to Draw Lifelike Portraits from Photographs by Lee Hammond. It's excellent!

Aww, thanks, Gin! I always worry about whether the person who's receiving the portrait will think that it looks like who it's supposed to be. (Did that make sense? ) So it was a huge relief when Krista said that she thought the portrait had "captured Oliveah's spirit".

The portrait of baby Sarah made it safely to Brazil on Monday. Exactly on month after I'd sent it out. I was so relieved to hear that it got there safely!!

And this is a little boy named Avery, whose portrait will be sent to Alabama. He's going to be a birthday present for his grandpa. He won't be sent out for a little while, though, because his Grandma has commissioned portraits of all four of her grandchildren, and I'll be sending them all at the same time.




He's such a cute little fella. I just want to give him a big hug!

I don't want to hijack your post but Gin had been working on a surprize for our friend Beth. She mailed it out last week and it arrived while Gin and I were chatting with her on messenger chat. Gin asked me to post it for her, it is a photo of her work and I think it's amazing too.
