Wasabi doesn't taste hot when you first put it in your mouth, you have to wait a couple of seconds and it shoots straight to your nose.

One time when I was at a chinese restaurant with a friend I had quite an experience. We got our food and the waitress also brought us these little plates w/ different dipping sauces. Well... so I grab an egg roll and first dipped in in the sweet & sour sauce.. very good.... next I tried what I thought was going to be regular mustard. So I dipped the egg roll in there since I like mustard I got a pretty good amount of it and I put it in my mouth. I soon realized this was not the mustard I liked LOL :faint2: My friend noticed a little too late and said "Oh no Carol!...." just as I had put it in my mouth.. lol
This chinese hot mustard gave me a burning sensation in the back of my head and I started coughing, my eyes got watery.... it was an AWFUL feeling! I thought my head was about to explode!
