A Jean-Michel Basquiat painting, "Untitled (Boxer)", will soon be up for bids at Christie's auction house in New York. It's from the private collection of Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, and is expected to sell for $12 million.





If you have an extra few million laying around, here's another of Basquiat's boxing-themed works:

I can't believe people would pay millions for these.

With paintings that look like that, maybe I could paint a million dollar picture!

The first one looks like someone pitching a fit.........I can't imagine anyone with two wits about them paying any kind of money for that ...
I hate to appear artistically ignorant.....But, are you serious with the second one? Is that really another one by Basquiat??

I know it looks like a Renoir, but yes, it really is a Basquiat, um... work.

Here's a Basquiat that the band U2 bought in 1989, and recently sold for $14.6 million. Metallica, U2... there's so much that rock stars can teach us about art.
