Hey guys,
I don't post here very often, but speaking of music, I uploaded a recording onto youtube of myself playing one of my favorites songs, "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring". I know it still needs a little work and was hoping for some constructive criticism, but some of the comments people leave there hurt my feelings. Here is what someone had to say: "Whoe hahahaha ahhahhaaaaa. OMG. You have too practis a lot!! Tip. Stop moving your eyes. It's bad enough...." For some reason this got deleted from the comment area below the video but it's still in my inbox.
If anyone has a chance to listen to it and see what you think I'd appreciate it. I put the link on my profile as my homepage. Thanks.

Don't you worry about them and their stupid comments. People like that get on my nerves. I'll listen to it Monday when I get to work. Thumbsup

Ah, I love it! That's one of my favorite Bach pieces, and you play it very well. I play the steel string acoustic guitar, but would love to take up the classical someday. If I could play like you, I'd be happy.

Pay no mind to those who leave negative comments. Their only goal is to hurt other people's feelings. Life's too short to let yourself be affected by them. They're very small people, and they don't matter in the least.

Have you heard of a classical guitarist named Per-Olov Kindgren? He posts videos on YouTube, and his playing is just beautiful.

Oh, I *love* Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring! It's one of those pieces that sounds deceptively simple. But to really master the beauty of it is a lot of work. (And well worth the effort!) You're really doing well with it! I can tell that you're putting a lot of practice into the piece, and it's paying off! Don't let the negative comment get you down. There are pseudointellectual musical snobs who's hobby is to make themselves appear to be amazing musicians and critics by making others feel inferior. But, I agree 100% with Rob - life is too short to listen to them. (Beside that......Who cares what some stranger thinks? Cool ) Anyway......Keep up the playing! It's sounding very nice!

And Rob! What a wonderful video! That man plays with such expression! :headphone:

I'm known for my ironic mind. My Mom is the same way. batEyes

(Oh, and I was debating whether I needed to pull out the pan over that or not. But since you didn't Fife me yesterday, I won't pan you for pointing out the irony of my post. grinsmiley )

'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring' is a beautiful piece. I love that song and you played it well. Don't let others hurt your feelings. I always say: whatever others say about me, the people that know me...know me well. The people that don't know me...they don't know who I'm about. So, keep playing your guitar and have fun with it! I appreciate the encouragement - I'll hopefully have some more to upload soon. By the way, I deleted that particular youtube account but only because I didn't like the screen name (in case you were looking for it). I'm trying to think of a better screen name.

Looking forward to seeing it! And yeah, like the others were saying, don't even give those people a second thought. Some of these youtube people don't have anything better to do than criticize people, and usually they don't even know what they're talking about! Whistle

Hey guys - I'm the person who started this thread. I just wanted to have the same nickname on youtube and other forums to avoid confusion. I just uploaded two new ones , neither of which are easy so I know they need work. Pachelbel's Canon is also the theme to my mom's favorite movie - she said she cried for about a week after seeing it. I wouldn't have had the courage to upload either of these without yall's encouragement:

Hey, those are terrific, blu3! I can't decide which I like better. They're both excellent.

Your Mom's favorite movie must be Ordinary People, right?

Hope you'll favor us with more of your videos. Applause

Wow, Blu3Kool, you're GOOD! I truly enjoyed that---both pieces are wonderful! Applause I'm a big Cannon in D fan---my bridesmaids walked down the aisle to that. (as did probably a million other brides and bridesmaids grinsmiley ). You have such a soft and subtle quality---I'd love to hear more so feel free to post here! Thumbsup

Both of the vidoes are wonderful, Blu3kool. You play very well.

I'm the only one in my family who does not play an instrument. My husband plays keyboards, my son, drums and my daughter is just learning how to play guitar. Me, I just listen so I know something good when I hear it. grinsmiley My husband keeps threatening to get me a bass for Christmas so that we can be like the Partrige Family. :haha:

Are you going to get a nice colorful bus too, so you can get to your gigs in style? guitar solo Musique02

My hubby & I both play piano, and I'm kinda bummed neither of my boys ever wanted to learn. I have my great-grandmother's piano so I had my fingers crossed to pass this down through the generations! But they both play trumpet so at least they're into music.guitar solo Musique26
