PostSubject: Gone for a week...   Sat Nov 01, 2008 3:24 pm

I'm leaving early Monday morning (3:00 am) with my Granddad to visit my Great-Grandparents who live about 9 or so hours away, I *think*. We'll be gone for a week. I don't think my G. Grandparents have internet access, so I probably won't be able to get on at all. I might be able to get on at my Mom's cousin's house for a minute, so see what's going on!! Both of my G. Grandparents arn't doing so well, so we're going to help them catch up on any house work that needs done.

This will be the first trip for me without all my Brothers and Sisters, Mom or Dad.

Anyway, just so you guys don't think I dropped of the earth or anything! grinsmiley

Please pray that we will make good time and have no trouble on the road.

Thanks!

Have a wonderful trip, Farmer Girl. I will pray for your safe travelling with your grandfather and for your great grandparents to feel better. And enjoy your "peaceful" time without your siblings. :haha:

Prayers for a safe trip Farmer Girl! I hope it's a nice trip for you. That's really neat that you're going to help your great-grandparents out. I'm sure they'll appreciate it! And it'll be a nice break I'm sure from all the brothers and sisters! Wink

Thanks, Holly, That's sweet!

I'm Back!!! I had a pretty good time, but it's always GOOD to be home!!! We left at 2:45 this morning (in my first post I said it was a nine hour drive. I was wrong. It was a 13 hour drive!) and got back at 3:00. I'd only driven on the interstate once before, now I have 13 hours of driving time under my belt! lol (not all at once, of 'course!)

I don't have time to look around right now, I'll have to catch up on everthing Monday. I'm going to take a shower, and GO TO BED!!! lol I'll catch you up on all the details of my trip later.

Thanks for all the prayers!

Hey!! How'd I miss this?? I've been waiting and waiting to hear that you're home - and here the thread sits, waiting for me to notice!

I'm so glad that you got home safely! And congratulations on the interstate driving experience! I can't wait to hear about your trip.

Thanks for the prayers, Guys!
My Great-Grandfather had a stroke a couple years back. His right side is still pretty much useless. He has always played the fiddle & guitar. That was pretty much his life. Now, he can't play either. I didn't have my music, but I played the piano and one of his old fiddles for him. My Granddad said it was the first time he's seen him get excited since his stroke. He had 3 fiddles, and he gave me the nicest one. I will always have to keep it, if not for any reason but that it's from him!
My Great-Grandmother has arthritis really, really bad, and has a hard time getting around. They still live alone, but a women comes everyday but weekends to help my Nanny with Pappy. Needless to say, there was a number of things she had us do for her. :o)

I did get homesick, though. This was the first time I have ever been anywhere without my Mom or Dad, brothers or Sister. I guess it sounds kinda silly, a teenager, getting homesick for her little brothers and sisters!

Thats the details, few as they be! I must say I did get board, and was glad to get back home to some noise! There house was soooo quiet!! (which is something I'm not used to! lol)

What a beautiful treasure, Farmer Girl! I always wanted to learn how to play the fiddle. I may yet!

I don't think it's silly for you to have gotten homesick. That just shows how dear your family is to you. Love

Thanks guys. Yes, I will always treasure the fiddle!

Savannah, the fiddle wasn't a bit hard for me to pick up, having played the panio. And the strings are alot smaller than guitar strings so they don't hurt your hands like a guitar does.
