Tim's job Empty
PostSubject: Tim's job   Tim's job EmptySat Nov 08, 2008 10:17 am

Tim and his fellow co-workers were sent letters yesterday stating that the company is going to have to make cutbacks, and that there will be possible layoffs. Any time is horrible, but this is an especially difficult time of year to be without a job, and we all know how bad the job market is right now. I'm supposed to do my student teaching and take 4 classes over the winter term, which would have to be put off so that I could work to help out with the finances, which is another worry because I'm afraid I won't make it back to school if I have to find a full-time job now. I don't mean to sound selfish but I've worked hard these past 2 1/2 years and have been really looking forward to finally earning my degree in May. It's something I've wanted to do for a very long time. So, that, on top of worrying about how the bills would be paid...Anyway, if you could remember us, as well as Tim's co-workers in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated.

Pam, I am so sorry to hear about Tim's job situation. You and your family will be in my prayers. You've worked so hard in school, and I hope that you can continue.

Prayers for your famliy Pam....times are hard everywhere......Jobs are few and hard to find here in Arkansas as well.......If they would quit sending all the jobs to foreign countries and keep it home to pay the people who live here to work, there wouldn't be a problem........ No

I'll be praying, Pam. And you don't sound selfish at all. You've worked so hard, and you're so close to getting your degree! Keep us posted! Were you told when the possible layoffs would be?

I agree with Savannah...you are absolutely not being selfish. I hope and pray that it doesn't come down to this. I worry about my husband's job all the time. He works for a big corporate giant that could easily send jobs overseas. Very scary.

They say within the next couple of weeks, Savannah.

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to remain hopeful. Sometimes they seem to make these threats to justify other cutbacks, like even crappier insurance. So, we shall see as time goes by.

Prayers from across the Atlantic are with you too, Pam. After all the work you've put in, it would ba a shame to have to quit your course now. Please God, Tim's job will be secure. No time is a good time to have your job under threat but it's always worse coming up to Christmas. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Prayers for you and your family, Pam. I don't think it sounds selfish at all of all to want to be able to finish your schooling and student teaching - it is something you've worked so hard for. I'll be praying for Tim and his co-workers. Maybe the cutbacks won't come off afterall. Keep us posted! {{hugs}}
