Before I could go to the Sock Hop, I needed to get a birthday cake made for tomorrow. Michael is turning nine, and when we go over to see the children, we'll be bringing a birthday party along with us. So, I spent the morning making Mikey's cake. Opie tried VERY diligently to help smooth out the frosting with his tongue. batEyes

But, thankfully, he didn't succeed. The picture didn't turn out very well....I'm going to try and get a better picture tomorrow with Michael and his cake together. But, for now, this will do.

Savannah, have you thought about putting "passengers" in the truck? Maybe paper cut-outs of Michael's favorite cartoon characters?

It's actually made from two pound cakes. You cut one of the pound cakes in half, and "glue" one half of it to the whole pound cake - lengthwise. Then, the other half that's left is placed on top to make the cab of the truck. The directions were in an old Woman's Day magazine. Thumbsup

I'm not nearly creative enough to come up with something like that on my own!

I like the cake. Last year I tried to make a train for William's birthday, but it didn't work out too well. Do you have any suggestions.
